We stayed for a week here in June 2022 and very much enjoyed our time. The check in was friendly and very helpful. The room itself was stunning, really beautifully decorated with lots of little things thought through well. The major downside to the room we had was that it was on the street (ironically a selling point) but the live music went on until gone 11pm most days. This is fine if you don't need to get up early to drive to Gozo (or get up early for any other reason). But it's a bit wearing every single night. The other bug bear I have is the changing of the towels. We did not need new towels every single day. We followed the guidelines on the card in the bathroom and hung them up. I even went to reception to ask for them not to be changed. Yet every day, new towels. For a place that states they care about the environment, they don't that much. Or their housekeeping staff don't anyway. I do have to give a very special note of thanks to Paul Cassar who made our breakfasts not only memorable but delicious. I struggle to eat toast and pastries (not from vanity, trust me). The running back and forward that Paul did to get me a great breakfast was truly commendable. He's a real gem to have on the team. Other than the music issues, the Saint John is a great place to stay, excellent location and stunning rooms, all in walking distance from the whole of Valletta.
