We spent 2 nights at Hotel Stella d'Italia, I booked a 3 stars hotel knowing I couldn't expect a luxury environment but, despite an average general evaluation, I cannot avoid to underline some very disappointing details: 1) the sink in the bathroom was badly cracked (see photos); 2) the air conditioning was extremely noisy (one night I woke up looking in the street thinking some works were in progress; 3) in the shower box there are no place for soap and shampoo, I ended up putting them on the floor and bending every time I needed them, quite uncomfortable; 4) in the bathroom there are no hooks or other way to hang the wet towels. These points are quite basic and should be available even at 3 stars hotels (or less).

Conveniently located hotel with friendly staff, ideal for young families. It has a 24 hour reception which is useful and our room was well cleaned daily. Would recommend if wanting easy access to the beach as it’s midway between all the bagnos and restaurants etc on the promenade and elsewhere.

A nice little hotel very close to both the beach and the small city center. The hotel needs care (read -＞ just older), and in my taste just a bit too much (price) for what you get. Our family room had what we needed… 4 beds and a small toilet. But VERY small. :) Staff were super friendly, and the breakfast was quite good compared to the low price.

Good location only a few minutes from the beach. The staff was helpful and nice. The hotel is a bit run down, but good value for money.

Good size rooms, Modern furniture in the rooms. Easy to walk down to the main street for food and the beach etc.

Run down hotel rooms that urgently need a facelift. Staff was bored and didn't seem to care much when we told them that an old glass lamp just randomly shattered on our room floor (there was glass everywhere and cleaning service failed to fully get a hold of it all. Asked for some kind of compensation / apology gesture but got nothing except an empty promise that the Hotel's boss would reach out to us at some point. Stay away.

Convenient and easy access. Arrived at the Viareggio Carnivale and was not disappointed. Thank you for having a carnival ticket in advance. Made it easier with my limited Italian speaking to access locations.
