ゲゲストWe stayed here for three nights in January 2024, our first visit to Bangkok. Sunny Stone Villa is a charming and lovely getaway, almost rustic, that feels far removes from the hectic bustle of the city, but with easy access to the major destinations. The design is beautiful, with individual cabins built around and above trees in a garden that also serves as home to a family of peacocks, chickens, some tortoises, and a guinea pig. The facilities are clean and spacious, and the room we stayed in hand a large balcony area to enjoy in the evening. The staff we're friendly and helpful, accommodating our easy check-in and various other requests, and Mr. Huang, the retired ********* teacher who designed and runs the hotel, as well as looks after the animals, is happy to chat. As for travel to the city center, Thong Lo is a short walk away, a hip, artsy neighborhood with great restaurants and a laid back vibe, and more central locations are easy to reach via BTS, the station accessible easily by Grab, or about thirty minutes away by walking. Do note however that the environment reallt does feel rustic: expect to wake up to the sound of peacocks and chickens in the morning, and you may need to avail yourself of the mosquito repellant provided to the room. There is also a nice coffee shop attached to the hotel, as well as a Sichuan hot pot restaurant, which looked good, but which we did not try.
