I booked and paid a room for 3 nights as I have a car to travel around Nice area. I specifically messaged them that I would come in a little late because the time of my flight. I came in around 10 PM. There was no one at the front desk. The hotel had a machine for you to check-in. That was fine. I typed in my reservation and it showed up. That was fine. But it asked me for my credit card and charged it for the 3 night-stay. It was late so I thought that I didn't pay with *******, just a reservation. I only found out that I already paid with ******* and the hotel double charged me when I checked in to the same type of hotel in a different city and the check-in procedure was different. This annoyed me so much. I had to chat with an ******* agent and explained everything to them. They couldn't contact the hotel either. The agent promised me to contact me back about the double charging. However, I would to review that this was a problem on the hotel side about their check-in procedure that 1) looked confusing, 2) unhelpful and unwelcoming, 3) caused troubles than assisting, and 4) if you needed some help, a machine would not serve as a human replacement. In addition, the whole 3 nights I stayed there, the housekeeper would come and knock on your door around 10 to 11 everyday. I am a late riser and I didn't appreciate this kind of treatment at all.
