Vindel Motel

******* made a reservation for us and this establishment was not even open they were closed for the season.

Very clean, pet friendly! Stayed one night before going to the island, check-in was easy and friendly. Walkable to restaurants and bars as well as the fort.

This gem of a motel is beyond perfect! It’s spotless, comfortable, good quality linens and the couple that runs it are the nicest down to earth people you could meet. Nothing fancy but you can just imagine taking a trip back in the 50’s when you pull up to your door. We won’t stay anywhere else unless it’s booked.

I should start by saying my boyfriend and I are VERY particular about hotels and had yet to find one we loved in Mackinaw City. Well that was until we found this!! I could not have asked for a better stay. Staff was amazing from the moment we arrived. It has the small mom and pop feel and is truly so cozy! Cleanliness was 10/10. I would recommend any and anyone to stay here.

We normally stay in hotels and rarely in 'motels'. However, this was by far the nicest room we have ever stayed in at a motel. Big, spacious, good facilities in room. The hotel was also close enough for us to walk to Ferry to Mackinack island - an added bonus.

The Vindel motel was a nice old school motel, very clean and in great shape for its vintage style. The owners were very friendly and helpful. It's kind of nice having an actual key instead of a little plastic card.

Very convenient checking in was a breeze. The bathroom was very nice and clean. After a long day driving it was nice to come to a clean quiet place.

For overnight motel stays in Mackinaw City, there is possibly no better option than the Vindel. Inviting, sparkly clean, convenient and quiet, great staff - the rooms are beautifully paneled with great attention to vintage detail. The beds are flawless, and the quality of in room coffee and toiletries is above average - actual bars of soap, rather than the tiny slivers offered most other places. A nice, old outdoor pool with a deep end of 8 ft! Even though located east of the Bridge, you're just a couple blocks from the main tourist drag. If it's just a few dollars more than another motel on the SE of the Bridge, there's good reason. But in MC, I have paid more for an overnight stay in much less desirable accommodations. Was hard to leave the Straights this time around!

This motel was a true delight! It is a wonderful "throwback" to travel from when I was a kid. We had an actual room key on a keychain! The room was quiet and clean, the pool was fun, and even our kids enjoyed they stay. The area was very nice and we would definitely stay here again!
