Our family has been coming to Tensing Pen for many years. From the moment you come through the front gates you feel the peace and tranquility that surrounds this gorgeous property. The beautiful rooms with stunning views, the wonderful staff, and delicious food, are some of the many reasons we keep returning to TP. The massages here are some of the best we’ve ever had and there are so many unique activities for guests to enjoy. Daily yoga, sound bath, painting, and a sunset drumming that was a highlight of our trip. It’s our happy place, our piece of paradise on earth.

We stayed at the beach for a week and then moved up to TP. We brought our family of six, ourselves and our adult kids. The kids stayed in the South House 1 & 2 and we stayed in one of our favorites - Sea Grape 2. You would never know there was a hurricane here! The property was beautiful, as per usual and the staff amazing as always. We first started staying at TP in 2012, and it feels like a second home. The Lodge food is fantastic, and the drinks are super tasty. The cottages are roomy and clean and have great views. We will continue to return for as long as we are able.

We have been coming to TP for about 8 years - sometimes twice a year. As always, it is a beautiful place and has wonderful staff. I'm sure we will continue to stay here, but there are a few things that popped the last couple of times that can't be ignored. It seems that if we book ahead to get the best choice of rooms that they will run specials that are quite a bit better than what we pay. They will not honor those specials because we are already booked. They have also backed their "high" season rates up to November 15th, instead of December 15th (like the rest of Negril). Therefore, even though we are long time loyal customers, we are forced to pay much more than the people that book last minute, AND pay higher rates for what is truly off season. It doesn't seem right! The last three times we were there we had large cockroaches in our room (two different rooms at two different times of the year). I know there are bugs in Jamaica, but this IS unusual. There were also 3 separate occasions when a"confirmed" taxi did not show up, or a restaurant reservation off property was not made by the front office as promised. The restaurant is usually very tasty, but the last time they were very slow (and yes, I know it is Jamaica), but slower than usual. I also wish they had a few "munchie" items on the menu like some of the other places. It was surprising to us that there was an 8 year old kid staying there, as the website clearly states no children under 12. There was a lunch gathering one day with many young children attending with their parents. ,These kids were running around the ENTIRE property for hours. Their parents had no idea where their kids were. They were not at all quiet, invaded the pool, and it seems quite dangerous for them to be climbing all over the cliffs. Lastly, we have had one particular massage therapist that we have enjoyed over the years. We are no longer able to request this person. We have to take who we get. That was very disappointing. It seemed that this was a new policy and quite a few guests were unhappy! We have come to know many other clients over the years, and many of our concerns seem to be shared with others. We feel that the long-time guests are not as important as TP trying to lure new customers. Again, we love to come here...it's just sad to see.

I just completed my first full day of my biannual visit to Tensing Pen. Hello!!! The place is up and running and as gorgeous as usual. We had our couples massage with Maxine and Georgia and it was as great as always. Actually better since there were few boats going to Rick’s. Which leads me to why I am writing this review on day one. Where are you all??? The staff is here as lovely as ever even though many of them have suffered big losses. The dogs are lonely. And there is a new “mascot” that will only be revealed when you get here. The only thing missing is YOU!! Airport was fast and uncrowded. Roads are no worse than before. Traffic through town is lighter. Please support these folks who make a vacation so special. Respect!!

There’s a good reason why so many people you meet at Tensing have not only stayed there before, but return year after year. It’s also incredibly refreshing to see the same friendly staff who’ve been with the resort for so long. They truly make you feel like part of the Tensing family from the moment you arrive. The accommodations are comfortable and unique, the food and drinks are excellent, and everything is extremely reasonably priced. Plus, if you’re in the mood to explore, there are plenty of great bars and restaurants just a short walk away. If you haven’t experienced Tensing yet, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. You’ll understand why so many of us keep coming back!

Gorgeous location, lovely room, really liked the small and intimate vibe. Great food, good service. Minor criticisms but feel at this price point, expectations are high: no coffee or tea in rooms was surprising. We were waking up early (5-6am) and had to walk over to the restaurant and there was never fresh warm coffee available until around 7am every day. Frustrating. Also, We arrived late and had to wait while the reception cover was woken up to check us in and take to our room (again, no drinks or welcome). Service is definately geared toward Americans versus UK/europeans. There was a Thanksgiving dinner while we were there and no other option or vegetarian choice provided. Again, relatively small things but we’ve travelled alot and have experienced a lot warmer and more personalised service at other places. But overall if was a lovely few days and would recommend.

This place is amazing. We are here 2 weeks after Hurricane Melissa and you’d never know this resort was impacted. The staff was amazing and always with a smile, the grounds were immaculate and the rooms are quaint yet beautifully done. I’d recommend this to anyone who wants to get away and enjoy the real Jamaica.

Hosting a retreat at Tensing Pen was magical! Words can hardly capture the amazing experience. The team's approach from the first document to the last goodbye was wonderful. From the stunning rooms to seaside cliffs to the fantastic meals, sea swimming and floating, and fun excursions, we did it all, and most of us had never been to Jamaica. I hosted a few precalls aligned with my newest book. Then the resort helped me align and invite local energy practitioners to join us for morning movement (Hope Heaven) and sound bowls on our last night, Auyahna Yahmaye. The experience was incredible for all of us, and the staff was delightful and so supportive of the full experience. Many women from the retreat stayed extra days and had private excursions. If you are looking for a retreat location! I would highly recommend Tensing Pen in Negril, Jamaica, as the owners, team, and experiences are perfectly aligned to a transformational retreat. We are already looking forward to coming back again!

Picked Tensing Pen for dinner because of it's location! And because it has a huge covered dining area. Of course it's a high end resort so very very private and clean. Noise level was minimal as slow season. The service is exceptional. The food was the best meal of the week and didn't cost as much as where we stayed on the beach. Food to die for !

I recently stayed at Tensing Pen Resort in Negril, Jamaica, and it was absolutely amazing—10/10 would recommend! It was my first trip to Jamaica, and I’m so glad I was able to stay here. The views from the cliffs are breathtaking! and the “Garden room” where I stayed was clean, cozy, and had antique charm that reminded me of my grandmother’s home. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always available whenever I needed anything. The food was delicious, full of authentic Jamaican flavors that made every meal a treat. I’m already planning to come back next year and will definitely stay here again!

I flew into Jamaica solo to meet friends for a retreat, and I felt right at home. I was in the garden room, and it was absolutely exquisite. It has been several years since I last visited the Caribbean, yet I felt as though I had never departed. My only regret is that I did not stay longer. We started our weekend with a welcome dinner, and the snapper was so excellent. I started each morning in the lounge chairs, gazing out at the water. It was always wonderful to see Paul, the lifeguard, every morning. The hospitality at the lounge restaurant made you feel like you were in your mother’s kitchen. Thank you to Sophia for the great service. The staff was so friendly. Tensing Pen did not feel like a resort; it felt like home.

The resort is just breathtaking. The views. The food. The staff. Everything was 10 out of 10. I can’t wait to go back. I already miss the beautiful dogs.

My now husband and I went with our 1 year old for our wedding... along with 8 other adults and 1 other baby. We had the most AMAZING TRIP! Tensing Pen is always amazing (we had been a couple years before), its stunning, relaxing, exciting.. Just an absolute special place. But I will say, with all that, they somehow were able to surpass that. Sha-Wayde especially who was the wedding coordinator was just an absolute angel. Truly made not only the trip stress-free, but she made my wedding the most special day and went above and beyond for us. The rest of the staff were also all great, friendly and just extremely kind. Paul the lifeguard made my 1 year old smile more than anyone and taught him how to fistpump. Haha. This isnt just a hotel, it is heaven on earth♡ we will continue to go back tell everyone we know to go as well. Can't tell them thank you enough!!
