Off the beaten track a 4*4 is nice to have in order to reach this accommodation. Once there it is magnificent. Having no wifi or fridge in your own room looks strange, but forces the guests to the main veranda. Wonderful to talk to the other guests there in one of the couches. The interior of the restaurant/lounge is fantastic. Old world charm.

Might have been the nicest hotel we ever stayed in and we travel all the time. Everything was perfect!

We had a couple of wonderful days in a very very nice Location in an african lodge. Located in the Mountains we had a stunning View from our accomodation over the Landscape. A very Special place with very friendly and caring staff. Highly recommended!

We experienced a very charming camp in the old English colonial style, situated upon a nice mountain.

Just outside of Addo National Park and we had intended going there for a game drive but Camp Figtree was to good we didn't venture out and enjoyed our time there. We were in tent 4 - the furthest away and we enjoyed the peace and remoteness but do take a torch as it's pitch black to try and find the key hole in the door to get back in the tent after dinner. There is no kettle in the room but they bring a flask of boiling water to your tent at 6.30am for an early morning cuppa and you can take a flask back to the tent in the evening. The food was very good and there was a wide variety of drinks. A couple of things to be improved upon - we had no idea how much the evening meal was as there was no price on the menu unlike the lunchtime menu: the GM was unaware of this and will update the menus. There are no details as to what activities are available and the prices - this is also going to be rectified. There are numerous signed walking and biking trails from the lodge but again no maps or details of how far - this is also going to be addressed. We had a fabulous time at Camp Figtree and wont hesitate to recommend it.

Beautiful nature reserve in colonial style and luxury. A must visit for nature lovers and hikers. Tranquillity and peace of mind is easily achieved here.

We stayed for a couple of nights on the recommendation of friends. Excellent, friendly service, fabulous room with magnificent views, fantastic food and dining experience on the terrace. Everything seems to be be top of the range. Only downside is the road quality getting there, gravel/stone track that was very bumpy, still worth the effort to get there though.

We had such a fantastic stay at camp figtree - from the moment we arrived we were greeted by wonderfully friendly staff who were extremely accommodating throughout our entire stay. The views are absolutely incredible and the room was beautiful with everything we needed. The most impressive part of the stay, however, was their ability to cater to my dietary restrictions. As a vegetarian coeliac I can only eat gluten free food, and I was worried about how that would go down but they created a bespoke dinner menu for me each night, with plenty of breakfast and lunch options too and they always had gluten free bread ready for me. I was blown away by the customer service, and we also enjoyed a half day game drive at addo as well as a drive at a private game reserve - Schotia. The staff at figtree arranged everything for us, and we managed to see 4 of the big 5 on our first day! I would definitely recommend this beautiful mountain lodge to anyone who is considering it!

Just a perfect 2 days stay. Game drive was very informative, food great, Service perfect, the location, accomodation and view are unique.

We were picked up from PE Airport (and redelivered two days later) by the camp manager. This was fortunate as the 25 minute drive off the road up to the camp is quite challenging in an ordinary car. Once you get there the view is magnifient, including from your bath! The rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The dining room serves good food and has a good wine list. The camp manager and all the staff were most helpful throughout our stay. The game drive down to the Addo Park gave us a really close up experience of the elephants as well as seeing black rhino. All in all we would highly recommend Figtree.

Unbelievable this place is just great! Near to Addo Road is bumpy and winding to get to the hotel more vegetarian options would be great Relaxing atmosphere

2 nights in this peaceful getaway to charge up our batteries, enjoying the happy staff up there and the extraordinary private game drive was 1000 times worth the drive up there! :-) we would definitely go back there!!!

What a absolute pleasure to stay at this wonderful place. The setting is magnificent. Stunning sunsets. Our room was possibly the nicest room we’ve ever stayed in. So luxurious and comfortable with unmatched views. The staff were so nice attentive and professional. Big shout out to Robyn who managed it all with ease and charm. But all the staff were amazing. Food was excellent with generous portions. I could go on and on . Highly recommend. We would love to return
