Avoid at all costs this is the worst place I have stayed, the rooms are disgusting, the food is inedible, half of the advertised facilities aren’t even available, worst holiday I have ever been on. Air con doesn’t work properly in rooms and there is no aircon in main building at all. There is no lifeguard on main pool at all, the entertainment is none existent. My daughter cut her foot open in the pool and there was no first aid kit at pool bar or main reception, I was given electrical tape at pool bar to bandage with napkins from the bar, the main reception gave me out of date random bottle of stuff and a plaster, there is no first aider or incident forms. I’m surprised the place is still open, absolute disgrace

The food was very bad, in the room you dont have wifi, conditioner doesn't work, only the beach was great. The cocktails or the juices are the cheapest and the quality is low. This hotel doesn't justify tje price so in my opinion only the beach was great and the sea.

To clarify for everyone planning to have a holiday here. THIS IS NOT A 4* HOTEL. No indoor facilities at all( but still advertised as available), rooms are an absolute joke, food is an offence to the greek cousine. Someone is trying to make some easy money on this place before is closed down as is not far from it. Dont do the same mistake we did and go there. I wish I read more reviews before we book there.

Awful hotel. Old, dirty, and in the middle of nowhere. What you see on websites is nothing like the hotel. It’s like a derelict building. The reception area smells or room smells , doesn’t help that there is a dirty lake outside our room, can’t even sit on the small dirty balcony. The glass on the balcony is smashed!!! Air con in one room not both and doesn’t flow. Broken bath tap, would on the bathroom ceiling, the list could go on forever. Hotel room looks like you’ve stepped back to the 1960s, also the wallpaper is peeling off! There’s rubbish everywhere, trollies dumped and overall a mess. The cleaner doesn’t clean, empty’s bins and adds loo roll. No beds made, no dusting done and no floors sweep. I’ve stayed in better 2 star accommodation. No way is this 4 star, I’d rate it a one. Complained to holiday company who won’t do anything as the hotel is non refundable, not my problem.

Firstly 2 adults and 3 kids it was perfect. Due to the poor reviews I reckon it’s quiet for that reason but that was perfect for us. It meant the kids could play on the slides, in the pool and us not worry about the busyness of the place. The reviews discussing the food are not wrong, however it isn’t inedible and needs some work. The lift isn’t working for the beach but there isn’t that many steps and we managed it with two 5 years and a 2 year old, without any moans. The beach is absolutely beautiful and quiet too. Philippa the barman at the lower pool daily was so kind to our children, Angela the lifeguard made friends with the kids making sure they were ok daily. I have to say it’s so sad to see that this place was probably once thriving yet now that seems not to be the case, we have had a lovely holiday and would recommend it to anyone. There is a few lovely restaurants less than a 1km walk away from the hotel one called Mai’s where we ate which was lovely and Camillos Italian which was INSANE!! Τρανακας Bakery has the BEST coffee and cakes. Highly recommend hiring a car to Gerakas beach to go early to see the turtles hatching and making their way to the water it’s about 15 minute drive away. If you’re looking for a 4/5 star hotel it’s not that however it’s perfect for a family holiday with the kids.

I was there for the 5th time, can you imagine? 😊 Hotel area is huge, 2 parts/hotels are closed, but the one which is open, i.e. Zante Royal is the most beautiful so really no regrets about that not operating ones. Territory is full of beautiful plants, rosemary bushes, bugenvillas, flowers, pinia trees with cicadas music….Hotel is located on the high cliff, surrounding by the wild nature, with amazing view on the royal blue Ionian Sea. Do you know there are a lot of wild peacocks here? You can hear them all day long and see among the olive trees on the hill if you just wishing to go there. And the view from the hill is just amazing… So this makes Zante Royal unique if you look for nature and not just for luxury. You can find here silence, relax and chillout due to marvelous location on the hill, in the village, far away from any city noise and entertainment. The beach located like 10 floor down is absolutely beautiful! Sandy, no stones, smooth entering the warm and crystal clear Ionian Sea, just like a dream… Regarding accommodation – rooms are big, with simple furniture, clean and spacy with everyday cleaning service, air-condition is maybe a bit noisy, but working fine. Food – traditional Greek, tasty, well-seasoned, enough choice so I cannot understand those complaining – are you going to Greece to get fat or to taste the local dishes? Enjoy specialty of the house and all those fresh vegetables, olives, feta, melons and watermelons. My special regards go to the Master Chef, the food was the most delicious this year comparing to previous ones! Pools - there are 2 quite big and very clean pools, adequate both for adults and children, one with slide open 12-14 and 16-18, with life guard girl. Pool bars available: daily one 10-18 and daily/night 10-1.00. You can find free sunbeds around the pools every time, all day long, no hurry to book them! Entertainment - fantastic Greek Night (on Sundays), just amazing dancers! and Live Music (on Wednesdays and Fridays) – this can be even the only reason to go there! There was no animation in June, but this is OK for me as I do not like cheap entertainment, I prefer the real Greek. As mentioned before Zante Royal is located in the village, 15 min walk to big market and some taverns. There are no clubs, disco or something like that for young people. If you like night live just go to Laganas. It’s important to mention the Staff – very friendly, smiling, and helpful which makes the holiday atmosphere there! 3 Barmans, Filipos (sunny man, crazy one!), Aristotelis (my favorite one!) and Jorgos (the youngest one, just 19!) are so positive and funny, enjoying their work so you will enjoy their company and service for sure! Cheers, if you read this, guys! 😊 All the Staff in the Hotel, Reception, Restaurant, Hotel Shop (beautiful Magdalena!) technic people and cleaning ladies included is nice and helpful, so you feel a bit like home. To sum up: Zante Royal Hotel is in beautiful place with marvelous beach

The worsttttttt hotel I,have been Smelling bathroom No wifi 40 minutes with car far from citty. Food terrible. Everything very bad. Lights keeps turning off. Beach has 200 stairs to go down and you must take them to the beach is soo tired....

food is disgusting canteen smells like sick, workers are all rude, beds like wood bathrooms flithy slide never open with half the place closed, half the stuff advertised is not even here disgusting and so bad the bar man serving 12 year olds vodka cockatils for free

The best thing about this hotel is the location a good few steps to the beach (the lift does not work people should be told this as if you can’t walk very far you are stuck ) but idyllic when you get there lovely pools Entertainment terrible no kids club two ladies appeared once a day danced by the pool did some colouring that was it,food really bad sorry to say but very depressing atmosphere and the staff not very friendly I don’t know whether it is the lack of English Darts ,pool table ,kids club advertised but no where to be seen Rooms are lovely air conditioning a bit ancient but worked As I said lovely location but that’s it

Zante Royal is my favourite romantic vacation place, I’ve been there for the 4th time in a row! :) Do not listen to those claiming everything but appreciate instead wonderful location on the cliff, amazing views, very cosy and nice beach, nature, plants, flowers… If you are not spoiled and demanding too much you will enjoy the quite good food, enough space and clean rooms (it is true that bathrooms need renovation, but so what?), fantastic Greek Night (on Sundays) and live music (on Wednesdays) and so romantic surroundings with plenty of rosemary bushes, bugenvillas, cicadas and the refreshing Mediterranean wind… And the Staff – very friendly, smiling and helpful – cheers especially to Anca, our catwoman serving the guests in the daily bar! :) 2 other Barmans, Filipos (crazy one!) and Telis are positive and funny as well, you will enjoy their service for sure! All the Staff in the Hotel, Reception, hotel shop and cleaning ladies included is nice and helpful, so you feel a bit like home. Very nice and calm place with good atmosphere for mental reset, not affected by commercialization known from Turkey or Egypt. If you need the luxury go to Turkey/Egypt/Dubai, if not – go to Zante then. Highly recommend this unique place!

Where do I start !! Walked in to check in ,the woman at the front desk looked suicidal, not what you want to b seeing starting your holiday,so much attitude on her ,we went down for the all inclusive lunch, absolutely shocking never seen an all inclusive food selection so bad , all food was bland , and prob about 5 different things to choose from , we thought it’s lunch so tea must b better , went to tea im sure it was the same food , the food was shocking , hands down worst I’ve ever been to !!!! No fruit prob one tray of dessert all the same , after that first day we never had any more of the food we eaten out every day , the guy in the mini supermarket,if you can call it that cus it was empty !!! His attitude was the worst in the whole place , no personality at all , a vile human being, the bar staff were nice tho , and the guys at the front entrance we liked !!! No entertainment at all !! Luckily we booked a quad bike so we never stayed there , only went back to sleep there ,we went down into the town it’s another world , loads of food friendly people nothing like the creatures at this crap , go to zante cus it’s an amazing place , but do not go to this Hotel it is shocking, hands down the worst I’ve ever stayed in , place should b shut down !!!!!!

Half the place is closed … bathroom filthy, ants in room all the time , attacked by wasps all the time, food - disgusting! No variety ,bland- poor for children ! Staff mainly ok but a number blatantly rude … the bloke in the mini market needs to attend a customer services course ASAP! View from room is overgrown land and hedges …. Slides only open a few hours a day and one bar open at night with one staff member!!!! meaning queuing for 30 mins to get a drink !!! No entertainment…. The gym 🙈🙈🙈 this is not four star - 2 at best

Worse hotel ever! So overpriced for what they offer! 2 stars maybe…. Avoid at all costs! Rooms, food, no entertainment, horrible for kids! Just bad overall!!!! I can say a thousand things but let’s just leave it at do not go there!

I don't recommend this hotel, we are disappointed. They serve same food every day, definitely not a 4 star hotel, it's a 2star hotel, the Internet is not working in the room, old gym with old machines
