Small inn located in the town. It’s mainly Japanese style but with a few western touches eg beds in tatami room and some fusion food items. The communal bath (indoor only) is not that big but there are also three private baths you can use as much as you want without needing to reserve. I liked the cute samue (pyjama type clothes) that were provided in addition to the usual yukata. We paid ¥44,000 for two people including dinner and breakfast. The drinks were included in the price but there were set times eg bar from 3:00 to 5:30 then drinks during dinner to 8:00 then nightcap till 9:00. We found it a bit strange that the bar was only until 5:30 as we had booked dinner for 7:00 (the latest time available) and as we only arrived at 5:00 we had to hurry to have a drink before dinner. This was a bit different from what we understood from the website which said drinks were available from check in until the end of dinner. We were also surprised that there the only beer available was Carlsberg. It was really strange that there was no Japanese beer not even in bottles. The food was good quality but we preferred the Japanese dishes to the western fusion dishes. Probably we will not go there again as we prefer a more traditional atmosphere with a view and outdoor bath. However we chose it because it is near Sendai and we needed to return our rental car the following morning. The other onsen towns nearby tend to mainly have big hotels so at least this was small and charming even if not totally to our individual taste.
