The Cordenburg Palace was built in the Middle Ages. In 1556, the sacred Roman Emperor Charles V held the abdication ceremony here. The former Cordenburg Palace was destroyed in a fire in 1731. The current location is the Palace of Brussels. Say the palace, the members of the royal family do not live here, just hold some ceremonies and foreign affairs reception place. The palace was built in the 18th century.
