The Arc de Triomphe of Constantine is located next to the Colosseum of Rome. Although much smaller than the Arc de Triomphe of Paris, it was built nearly a thousand years earlier than the Arc de Triomphe of Paris. Founded in 315 A.D., it is the latest of the three existing triumphal gates in Rome. It was built to celebrate Constantine's complete defeat of his powerful enemy, Maxenti, in 312 A.D., and the reunification of the empire.
