Chongren Ancient Town is about 11 kilometers northwest of Shengzhou City. It lies on Wulong Mountain and passes through Changshan River. Tracing back to Chongren's history, we can at least look back to more than 1700 years ago. Chongren Ancient Town - "Originally known as Xinghua Village, during the reign of Xining in the Northern Song Dynasty, Emperor Qiu Shi of Yimen moved here from Wuzhou. Qiu Shi was named Chongren because he advocated benevolence and righteousness. Since the Southern Song Dynasty, there have been many talented people, including four Jinshi, 38 celebrities and dozens of officials of the Qiu family. Chongren is a beautiful and quiet ancient town in the south of the Yangtze River. It still retains a huge ancient building complex, though it has gone through thousands of years, but the style is still the same. Ancient buildings in groups, with the Song Dynasty legacy, Ming and Qing characteristics. The temples, ancestral halls, ancient stage, folk houses, archways, pharmacies, stores, bridges, ponds and wells are all available. With Yushan Temple as the center, there are more than 100 well-preserved old Taimen, which are connected by cross-street buildings. They are pearl-like and independent, reflecting the legacy of our ancestors "separate families, gather only one family". Chongren's Ming and Qing dynasties are mostly closed courtyards or quadrangles with roofs, eaves and masonry walls decorated with brick carvings. They are magnificent and elegant. Among them, the brick sculptures on the wall of Jingcheng Bookstore are of great quantity, exquisite craftsmanship and ingenious conception.
