Swan Bridge, also known as Swan Bridge, spans the Nieuwe Maas River and connects Rotterdam's north and South sides. The name of the bridge is in memory of Desiderius Erasmus (c.1466-1536), a famous humanist thinker and theologian in medieval Netherlands. Because the shape of the bridge is somewhat like a flying swan, it also gets the nickname Swan Bridge. Swan Bridge is one of the symbols of Rotterdam and is rated as one of the 13 most beautiful bridges in the world. It is 139 meters high with one arm and 802 meters long. It is the longest cable-stayed bridge in the world. This beautiful bridge has appeared in many important activities, such as Jackie Chan's 1998 film Who am I? In the 2005 Red Bull Air Race, several planes flew under the bridge. The bridge is also part of the 2010 Tour de France.
