The Urumqi Museum is located in Nanhunan Road, Urumqi City. Unlike the Museum of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the contents of the collection and Exhibition focus on the history of Urumqi City and the humanistic landscape of Urumqi. The original name of Urumqi, Dihua, was established by the central government of the Qing Dynasty in the second half of the eighteenth century. It was used until before liberation. After liberation, it was formally renamed Urumqi, which means "graceful pasture" in Mongolian. The museum is small in scale, taking the history and development of Urumqi as the main line, showing the life and political and economic development of the local people. In particular, it records the story of Uncle Kulban, a Uygur peasant. This is the story I heard when I was a child. Now I see this almost forgotten history in the museum. It's very happy.
