ホテル ケッテンブルック(Hotel Kettenbrucke)

Just a few minutes' walk from Aarau railway station, and 'on the edge' of the Old Town, we enjoyed two very comfortable nights at the Hotel Kettenbruecke. The room was bright and clean. Double bed. Coffee maker. Shower (no bath). Buffet-style breakfast, offering a good range of continental dishes (what one might expect to find in most, similar, establishments. Perhaps a bit hi-tech for some (as we couldn't figure out how to access the wifi ... something to do with QR codes ... but a very friendly and helpful receptionist sorted that out for us). Enjoyed the stay, and would certainly return.

The room and particularly the bathroom were SO HOT as there is no Room air cooling and without the use of the small fan I requested from Reception we would have struggled to sleep, get dressed! The room was lovely, the bathroom and storage great it was simply the excessive heat that spoiled it PLUS on the morning of Day 2 (we stayed 3 nights) they forgot to clean our room and worse NO clean towels - so we had to shower and use the dirty ones to have left on the floor. Then unfortunately Breakfast ends at 9.30am weekdays but no one informed us when checking in so on day 3 when we came at 10am we had to beg for some yogurt and juice which eventually we got.

This nice hotel is centrally located and features stunning views over the river. The breakfast room overlooks the river and the buffet is well stocked. The rooms are modern and provide ample space to relax and work. There is unfortunately no onsite parking and you have to walk across the street to a nearby open parking.

Sleeping 5 of 5 Room 5 of 5 Parking, check-in parking. Both challenging. No Hotel Parking. 3 of 5. Breakfast: 5 of 5 (however same at all breakfasts..) Great cheeses. Housekeeping 5 of 5 Front desk close early on Sundays (4.30 pm), good to knew. In all 5☆

Comfortable and modern hotel at the river. Large bed. Friendly and helpful staff. Center of the city is nearby (short walk). Not the cheapest hotel on Aarau, but you get value for money. Car parking and public transport (bus) are close to the hotel. Train station +/- 10 min walk.

This is a very modern hotel that lacks a lot of features thyt you can expect for that price. There is no gym, no air condition that you can use the cool down the ream and no fridge to at least put something in to consume later. So you end up with a modern but poorly equiped room which also prives a wsy to narrow desk so that you have a hard time working too. For me it was a big dissapointment given the premium price tag .

the restaurant in this hotel works on the service for two! stars ! the food is delicious! management in this restaurant ! not very good! I hope they get better in the future! and everything will be! ! spoiled the evening in the restaurant! they brought red wine when they ate the meat!

Best Hotel and location in Aarau. My go-to when working there.
