I was really happy with my room at Charles Hope Aberdeen and I would stay again. The room including the bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything you would need. The staff were also friendly and helpful, and the building itself is very clean and stylish. The only thing that was negative and was frustrating for me was that there was no lamp, only very bright ceiling lights, so there was no option for less bright lighting. I dislike very bright lights and especially in the evening when I want to wind down and read a book, I prefer much dimmer lighting. If I knew there was no lamp I would have bought a camping light or something. Adding a small lamp into the rooms wouldn't be expensive and it would really complete it. I enjoyed my 4 night stay anyway. Thank you.
I booked 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express Aberdeen for myself and my husband and 10 year old son, I booked a double bed with pull out sofa bed option as this was the only room that could accommodate my family at the time. At arrival to the hotel, we proceeded to take our cases up to the room, and when entering the room, it was evident that the accommodation would not be suitable, since there was NO room to move at all, and an office chair wedged in between the double bed and wall, preventing any access to the sofa bed. We travel with suitcases, and there was not ONE section of space to allow us to gain access to our cases, only the bed in which we obviously would need that to sleep. Upon calling the front desk, we were told very rudely that we had the biggest room available, and to ‘put the chair in the hallway’, is that not a safety issue? Please note that we were prepared and happy to pay additional costs if a room change was needed. I do not understand how this hotel or housekeeping can think this is a suitable situation for a family? I do not believe it would be deemed safe or compliant in event of an emergency situation either. Looking on the website I can see the options to add a child to a booking which gives you the double bed with pull out option, but honestly from what we experienced, this is absolutely not the case nor should this option be available as clearly it isn’t suitable for a family. We had to leave the hotel, and relocate elsewhere. I have emailed my grievances and not had a reply at all. Stay elsewhere if you are are family with young kids!
ゲゲストThe whole atmosphere was relaxing and the rooms were fantastic. Great friendly staff, great food. The beds were super comfy and those pillows were so comfy. I asked the staff where I could buy them from unfortunately he didn’t know it that’s okay. Would defiantly come back again. Thanks for making the whole trip relaxing Lynn craig
ゲゲストWe had lunch on Christmas Day at the Norwood. The food was delicious, the waiting staff were all very friendly and efficient and we had a lovely afternoon. We'll definitely be back to eat there soon, such a lovely venue which we need to support
Had the worse caesar salad half a salmon fillet and not alot of salad and for £19 so it's poor. The menu in these hotels are poor and very very expensive for what you are getting. I think it's lazy and boring and wanting to take alot of money off the customer for very poor and under portioned food. If it wasn't for the fact I have to stay here through my work I wouldn't. But I will be writing to my company and sending them a photo of my food to show them how much we and them are being ripped off compared to the other hotels in the Dyce area.
MMatthew DThere was horrendous noise at 5am which woke me up. It was like someone was rolling bowling balls above my head. I tried to find a number to call reception but that is impossible. It got so bad I opened my door and at that exact same time so did my neighbour and we talked aboit it. Literally like someone throwing or rolling bowling balls into each other for an hour minimum. No number to phone to alert. Other than that all fine but sleep is the mainstay of a hotel and that noise was terrible.
Self check in after 8. Key left by the shelf at the entrance with my name. Large, clean and warm room. provided with kettle tea and biscuits. Unlike most of the places in Scotland they didn't ask to make or undo the beds, which was very appreciated Bathroom spacious and clean with soap and towels. Kettle with tea and biscuits provided Breakfast was minimal with some bread and butter/jam and a few types of cereals with milk but for the price we paid (63£ in 3) it was absolutely worth it
