I booked 2 nights at the Holiday Inn Express Aberdeen for myself and my husband and 10 year old son, I booked a double bed with pull out sofa bed option as this was the only room that could accommodate my family at the time. At arrival to the hotel, we proceeded to take our cases up to the room, and when entering the room, it was evident that the accommodation would not be suitable, since there was NO room to move at all, and an office chair wedged in between the double bed and wall, preventing any access to the sofa bed. We travel with suitcases, and there was not ONE section of space to allow us to gain access to our cases, only the bed in which we obviously would need that to sleep. Upon calling the front desk, we were told very rudely that we had the biggest room available, and to ‘put the chair in the hallway’, is that not a safety issue? Please note that we were prepared and happy to pay additional costs if a room change was needed. I do not understand how this hotel or housekeeping can think this is a suitable situation for a family? I do not believe it would be deemed safe or compliant in event of an emergency situation either. Looking on the website I can see the options to add a child to a booking which gives you the double bed with pull out option, but honestly from what we experienced, this is absolutely not the case nor should this option be available as clearly it isn’t suitable for a family. We had to leave the hotel, and relocate elsewhere. I have emailed my grievances and not had a reply at all. Stay elsewhere if you are are family with young kids!

The hotel itself is very modern and clean but vast and I mean vast it lacks a soul no atmostphere or character. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and they have a bath which is nice. The gym is not a gym it has some running machines and a feeble attempt at some equipment, it is also not air conditioned. The pool area is nice and the pool itself is decent, the sauna is very and the steam room is ok but a bit cool. Dinner is a limited menu and given that you are at least 10 miles from Aberdeen you’re kinda screwed on going out , so expensive too and very average. The parking is also a major chore, you park underground take a lift to ground level and the have 209yard outside walk, my advice, pull up outside and take in your bags and then park up. EV charging is limited to three points which were busy the whole time I was there so don’t rely on being able to charge. Breakfast was self service and had a broad choice of the usual things , there were no fried eggs so I asked if they were on there way, they came out promptly but were perfectly round and like rubber, they have heat lamps in the kitchen too I guess. Nice hotel but could be better
ゲゲストWe had lunch on Christmas Day at the Norwood. The food was delicious, the waiting staff were all very friendly and efficient and we had a lovely afternoon. We'll definitely be back to eat there soon, such a lovely venue which we need to support
ゲゲストThe owners of this B&B - Steven and Mary - are fantastic hosts for a traveller. Their service attiutde is above all expectations. They woke up before 6 o'clock to make me warm ham and cheese croissants in my last morning in Aberdeen and the cheese omelette was the best I've ever eaten. I had a silent room. Traffic did not disturb at all. Everything is bit old but in good condition except maybe my tiny TV.
MMatthew DThere was horrendous noise at 5am which woke me up. It was like someone was rolling bowling balls above my head. I tried to find a number to call reception but that is impossible. It got so bad I opened my door and at that exact same time so did my neighbour and we talked aboit it. Literally like someone throwing or rolling bowling balls into each other for an hour minimum. No number to phone to alert. Other than that all fine but sleep is the mainstay of a hotel and that noise was terrible.
Good for 1 night. Near train station, bus station..... I booked a quadruple room, as it was important that there were 3 single beds, since we were 3 persons. It was very disappointing when they tried to accommodate us in a triple room, where there was one single bed and one double bed.....I asked to change the room, but I received dissatisfaction from some man who, as I understood, manages the rooms....he told me that we should not touch each other items that are intended for 4 people in the room.......even though I paid money for the entire four-person room. I don't know if it's a coincidence or not, but 2 cups of coffee and ONE BATHROOM TOWEL and one small one for three people were left for the three of us.....it's the first time I've encountered such a situation. The bed linen of one bed was stained with brown stains....
ゲゲストThe address advertised is incorrect. I walked to the address on Union Street and had to Google search the actual location. The accommodation was actually in an alley on Rose Street at the opposite end of Union Street. When phoning the property, it was a London number, not Aberdeen. I had to find the property down an unmarked alley and a mobile number was on the door. Fortunately, the maid was pleasant and helpful.
