on half board charged 5 euro for water with evening meal,disgusting it only costs 40cents in the supermarket entertainment dire only 3 nights ourt of 7 Bar prices over the top 5 euros for 1/2 pint local beer no deignated concert room only on the patio.Out of tune amateur sax player at 0900 sunday breakfast.who thought of that one.Check yourself in with their tablet so the staff dont have to do anything took 20 mins after 11hrs 30mins travelling.Many empty side rooms full of big couches and armchairs like a 80s mens club.No TV in public areas to watch sports or other,no games roon that we could find.All hallway carpets need replacing.Terrible tranfer time over 2 housr from chania.Rooks good cleaning good Heated pool freezing

I chose this hotel for my wedding party based on the reviews and value for money. I had just under 50 guests staying at this hotel and below is my honest opinion. The staff upgraded our room when they found out we were getting married in Crete. They also upgraded our room further due to the room flooding during a thunderstorm. We were happy with how the staff handled the situation, being very accommodating knowing my wedding was the following day. Most of the staff were lovely, especially the staff at the spa and reception. However, I was extremely upset and disappointed to hear that my sister in law had faced discrimination after being told she could not go in the swimming pool with her children despite wearing appropriate for swimwear for those who are multicultural. This was very upsetting to hear, particularly as I chose this hotel for my guests. For them to feel discriminated against is simply not acceptable and no apology has been given from the hotel as they do not believe they are in the wrong. Few of my guests from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities also stated they did not feel welcome, feeling as though they were being treated differently. This felt evident when waiting at the bar as we found some of the staff were rude and did not want to serve my party, sometimes waiting 45 minutes to be served a drink. Overall I do not feel this hotel is inclusive or multicultural. The decor and food is more of a 4 star hotel (excluding the spa which was lovely). I hope a solution can come of the above situation but I am upset and disappointed about how this has been handled, particularly as I chose this hotel for my guests and feel some responsibility.

Sadly I don’t think this hotel merits 5 star. The rooms are very dated and the bathroom with its bath and very basic shower is a real disappoin**ent. The room however was clean and beds comfortable. The staff are great and breakfast has lots of choice. Dinner wasn’t great. Too much was overcooked and some of the meat quite tough. The main pool is very large but cold and unfortunately has a large amount of flies floating in it. I think in its heyday it might have been 5 star but not any longer. It desperately needs money spending on the rooms. Sadly I won’t return as it’s too old fashioned for me.

Such a beautiful peaceful resort; family orientated, staff here are so friendly and kind. A special thank you to the GM Kostas for making our honeymoon holiday very special. I would highly recommend Aquila Rethymna beach. We are very happy we have chosen this resort and we would definitely come back to beautiful Crete.

We are currently staying here on half board basis. Last minute and it’s lovely. Food fab, beach location and basic room which is old fashioned considering we got a bargain. However can’t tell you how bad the music is, in lounge, pool and bar areas. Considering it’s May and everyone is mostly over 40, listening to banging hip hop drives you mad. Can someone please do something about the teenagers who are trying their best but please play something which we can listen to. We can’t be the only ones who think it’s driving everyone from the pool.

We have returned to Aquila beach hotel for the eighth time as we would highly recommend this hotel as being very family oriented. We have found that they cater for all groups from football teams to groups of walkers, what makes it special is all the staff. The staff in every depar**ent are so helpful, friendly and professional,that why we keep returning. Kind regards Graham and Wendy

Our experience at Aquila Rethimno Beach was simply extraordinary! The enormous pool, surrounded by palm trees, was a perfect oasis of relaxation, with plenty of sun loungers for all guests. The extremely friendly staff made everything even more special. My friends, who came with children, had access to the second pool dedicated to families, with the same excellent conditions. The hotel staff was always smiling and prompt to provide us with everything we needed. The main restaurant amazed us with the diversity and quality of the food, offering us an unforgettable culinary experience. The hotel's elegance is reflected in every aspect, and the team of photographers was more than kind and professional, providing us with quality photo sessions and helping us to keep wonderful memories. I warmly recommend this Greek paradise to anyone looking for an unforgettable vacation!

We had an amazing holyday. I have to say the food was great and we had from where to choose, even for the kids. The Kri Kri club was excelent. They had a very interesting program and the kids had a lot of fun. The staff of the hotel was very friendly. We had also a profesional photosession witch was great. We never had such an experience like this, so we enjoyed a lot and the kids had a very good time with the photographer. The pool was very Nice. We had a lot of options. The hotel it's having a very nice pool for the little ones and the big pool was very good with enough sunbeds and a lot of space. We was happy and for sure we will be back.

Crete is our favourite destination in Greece. Stayed with 2 kids. Clean rooms , comfortable beds and very good amenities on the site. Staff is extremely friendly. Special thanks to Elena and spa team for unforgettable experience. Will definitely come back.
