Beautiful location with truly amazing views. Dinners and breakfasts were delicious. Easy walking to all areas of interest

I don’t usually write reviews, but my stay at the Nimpkish warrants one. The building is old but that’s its charm; it’s not cutting edge, but everything works, everything is comfortable, and everything has character that you won’t find in a brand new building. I won’t go into all the details that made my stay there one of my best hotel experiences, I will just focus on the biggest one which is that the hosts there are quite literally the nicest people I’ve ever come across in a hotel. Within minutes of arriving, I can honestly say without exaggeration that it felt like I was staying with family. The hospitality really is that good, and they seem genuinely lovely people. Nothing was too much to ask, and anything I needed was provided immediately. The only downside of the Nimpkish is that it was so good that it means I will probably never get to try out any of the other accommodation in the area, because if I go back to Alert Bay I will go to the Nimpkish every single time.

Really enjoyed our stay here, the view from the hotel is outstanding and the owner is very sociable. Highly recommend.

We would highly recommend the Nimpkish Hotel! We were greeted warmly at check-in by hotel personnel who then walked to our vehicle to carry our luggage up to our room which had a spectacular view. Our room was very clean, nicely furnished and absolutely charming. We chose to have dinner at the hotel and our dinners were as great as any 5-Star restaurant. Perfectly cooked and a beautiful presentation!

Awesome view from the hotel, perfect place to whale watch!! The most beautiful sunsets. Nice hosts, nice and clean rooms, very nicely decorated. breakfast buffet: nice bagels, good bananabread, filtercoffee, tea, butter, benutbutter, honey, jam, juice boxes, no cheese or meat, melones. Tour to whale watch with „Sea Smoke“ booked out fast, booking in advance recommended. We saw Humbag and Orcas (just the tip), Seals, SeaLions from beach and an Otter from the ferry. You can hike the island, take a navigation system with u.;) the map from there is not accurate.

I arrived after a very long day of traveling and upon arrival i met the kindest woman who is the inn keeper...incredibly warm and compassionate even though i arrived late..she even made me the most delicious shrimp curry after the restaurant was closed. Dinning room overlooksalert bay so excellent point to see wildlife while eating free breakfast. Beds were like clouds, room cozy and immaculate. A nice 15 minute walk from ferry. The owner went above and beyond to help me arrange transportation to final destination as well as just be an i credible conversationalist. I would always stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at the Nimpkish Hotel. Our room was spotless, comfortable and had an amazing seaside view. The owners and staff were so welcoming and constantly went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. Breakfast was included and dinner, only offered to hotel guests was leaps and bounds above anything else in town! We highly recommend the Nimpkish Hotel to anyone travelling to Alert Bay!

Excellent hospitality and amazing location. Sitting on the deck watching the sun set is nothing short of spectacular. Listen for the minke whale blows as they can often pass by on the summer months. Kingfishers, Eagles, Ravens add to the magic of the hotel stay. Hospitality is second to none.

Charming and very comfortable place right over the water. Room are spacious and comfortable for a long term stay. Large deck and various outside spaces and seating arrangements provide many options for working, writing, book reading, or simply soaking in the breathtaking scenery. Hosts are very welcoming and happy to share their knowledge about island and it’s history when asked. I would highly recommend this hotel to any visitors to the island - solo visitors, couples, or families. And I would certainly stay there on my next visit to Alert Bay.
