ハウス ゾンヴェント(Das Kleine, Feine Sonnwend)

This is a wonderful hotel near the center of Alpbach. Our room was very clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfast was delicious with fresh and quality selections including eggs cooked to order. On-site parking. There is a well stocked honor bar on the lower level. The free city pass which allows you to take a free the bus to the local ski mountain for a ride to the top is a nice benefit. Lastly, if you stay here you will get a chance to meet one of the treasures of Alpbach, Gitte (Brigitte). She is the property owner with so much energy, enthusiasm and heartfelt friendship for all. She always seemed to be nearby. Just look for her golf cart. This hotel offers great value, please give it a try.

This is the most hospitable stay in our 20 day trip in Austria and Italy. Gitty (Brigitta) is incredibly helpful and engaging. From our greeting at arrival to our departure days later, Gitty was making sure we were taken care of. Also we got free chair passes and bus passes so we could continue hiking the Alps with ease. The food in Alpbach was incredible as was the breakfast bar here.

Very clean, comfortable, well decorated and equipped. Friendly helpful staff. Would certainly stay again.

After an enforced sabbatical (CoVID) we were finally able to return to beautiful, charming Alpbach. It is hard to explain how and why Alpbach has become a special place for us, put simply it’s lovely. We stayed in the Haus Sonnwend wonderfully hosted by Brigette and Sophie (Sofie). The guesthouse was, for us, perfect. It is in impeccable condition, spotless and homely. Our room was well catered for with comfortable beds, great shower and a huge balcony where I could sit with my first coffee of the day and breathe in that lovely mountain air. Each room has it’s own kettle and coffee machine and a range of coffee blend pods and tea bags are left at the bottom of the stairs for guests to choose from. A smart TV is also provided but, to be honest, ours was never turned on other than to check it out. We hired skis from a ski hire shop literally across the quiet street and stored them in the Haus Sonnwend ski storage and heated boot room. Should you fancy a little beverage after a day’s skiing, there’s an honesty bar beside the ski room and you can sip your choice of libation sitting on the comfortable veranda looking out towards the snow covered mountains. There is very little noise at all other the church bells ringing each morning which brings a wonderful warmth to village life. Alpbach, please don’t change. There are many fabulous restaurants close by but our personal favourites include the Postalm (a charming village bar/restaurant) and the Alphof (a hotel a little further up the hill). Finally we wish Brigette and Sophie (Sofie) continued success and we hope to return in Feb 23.

Wij hebben 2 nachten in Haus Sonnwend geslapen in September. Wij waren blij verrast over de kamer, eigenlijk een appartement met eigen keuken, hal en badkamer: het was zeer schoon en goed ingericht. De medewerkers waren stuk voor stuk erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het ontbijt was gewoon goed. Erg aan te bevelen.

Das Hausen Sonnwed liegt mitten in Alpbach. Die Ski Bushaltestelle ist nur circa 50 m entfernt. Von den oberen Stockwerken hat man eine großartige Aussicht auf das gesamte Skigebiet. Die Studios sind sehr modern eingerichtet, sehr zweckmäßig gestaltet und absolut sauber. Besonders herausragend ist das Frühstücksbuffet, das mit jedem vier Sterne Hotel locker mithalten kann. Zusätzlich zum reichhaltigen Buffet werden alle Arten von Eier Speisen noch angeboten. Die Besitzerin ist sehr zuvorkommend, freundlich und hilfsbereit, hier fühlt man sich einfach wohl. Diese Pension ist sowohl für einen Kurzaufenthalt als auch für eine komplette Skiwoche bestens geeignet. Preisleistung sind absolut überragend.

Estuvimos mi pareja y yo de viaje por Austria y nls alojamos una noche en esta casa. La atención de la señora fue magnífica desde el principio nos sentimos como en casa. Nuestra habitación era en la parte alta y tenia unas vistas increibles. Con todo detalle: cafetera, capsulas de cafe, zumitos de bienvenida...etc. El desayuno es espectacular.
