Great place to stay. Very convenient for beach and many restaurants and bars. Staff super friendly. hotel spotlessly clean. Nice pool area and plenty of sun beds. If I was being picky the only criticism I would have is that we got a voucher for a welcome drink. In all the other hotels on this trip we were offered a glass of caca so expectations were high! Turns out it is just orange juice with grenadine so manage your expectations! Overall thiugh a really terrific place to stay and would highly recommend it!

From the moment we arrived to when we left the staff could not do enough to help. We were here for our daughters wedding and they helped to make it all as stress free as possible. The staff here are amazing especially Candi. There were a few little hiccups but they were soon sorted by the hotel reception. The area is fantastic and all local restaurants excellent including the hotel own restaurants . I have nothing bad to say about this hotel . You won’t be disappointed.

Wonderful to see Altafulla Mar continue to maintain it's high standards! Once again everthing was just perfect - staff most pleasant, efficient and accomodating, all areas spotlessly clean and food excellent in all the restaurants (new Mexican restaurant a great addition!). The swimming pool area and the lovely garden is just the ideal spot to relax after an afternoon at the nearby beach, a sightseeing/shopping trip to Tarragona (train station just a few minutes walk from the hotel) or a pre-dinner aperitif. The de luxe rooms on the fourth floor with their big balconies (and sun loungers!) and free access to the infinity pool highly recommended.

Stayed four nights for a family wedding st the nearby Castell de Tamarit castle. This hotel is used by many parties that are here for weddings as we saw from coaches leaving for such an event and also from talking to fellow guests. But there are no irons or ironing boards in any rooms so with a large number of guests all wanting to be at their smartest you cannot find an iron or board. I complained and received a vertical steam iron but no ironing board. Apparently there is not one in the whole hotel and only six standard irons and six steam irons (not worth using). Breakfast is a buffet where the eggs are cold and have been sitting for some time. You can ask for a fresh egg but expect resistance to this. Reception staff are helpful but at times only one person is there and then seem to be on the phone for ages. I cut my head open and my cap saved the blood from going anywhere. So when I went to reception with my wife helping me to ask for a first aid box I found only one person on the phone and despite showing my hands with blood on them he continued his conversation on the phone! We went to the room and fixed my head there. Clearly not a four star hotel and the previous three star hotel we stayed in also for four nights was much better. Draw your own conclusion.

This hotel, is excellent, it is ideally located, close to a beautiful, beach, and many great restaurants. It is a great hotel, to travel, to Tarragona, or Sitges. The staff, are really friendly, the rooms are excellent, and the pool, is excellent. There, is a choice of 3 restaurants in the hotel. The buffet, breakfast, was really good also.

A really nice option if you plan to visit Altafula

On our seventh visit to Altafulla Mar Hotel we still found it the perfect place for a lovely relaxing holiday. Standards still remain admirably high -- congratulations to manager Jordi! Great room, entire hotel spotlessly clean, beautiful pool and garden, great breakfast and very efficient staff. Front desk personnel deserve special mention, as does barman Eric -- all incredibly competent, friendly and obliging. Slight blip with one staff member dealt with sympathetically by the highly highly efficient front desk manager Paula. We'll be back!!

We booked a 2 night stay here for our wedding in April 2022, selecting the biggest suite with private jacuzzi for the night before and night of our wedding. What should have been a romantic and special occasion was a disastrous stay, with very little customer service from the staff at the hotel. While the hotel itself still feels new and we’ll kept. While we couldn’t use the pool facilities because of the weather, the communal areas looked excellent! Our room was on the whole good. Spacious, clean, lots of light. However the jacuzzi didn’t work. Despite the hotel itself being good, we were so disappointed that our wedding was ignored by the staff at the hotel. We had booked the best room in the hotel and mentioned in the booking that we were staying for our wedding. We were so sad not have any personal touches in our room when we arrived the day before our wedding and even more disappointed that there was no effort made by the hotel to make our wedding night special. When we got engaged in New York, our hotel covered our bed in petals, filled the room with balloons and left us a bottle of champagne to congratulate us. In this hotel - nothing. The night before the wedding, we had a 7 hour powercut - so a whole night of our stay without power and no staff from the hotel contacted our room to check on our well-being. We were sat in darkness the night before our wedding with no power and no light. It was a terrible experience the night before our wedding and made us very anxious and upset. The food in restaurant was also terrible. The pork was so bad it could not be eaten. The staff at the hotel did not say anything to us upon checkout and it was as if our wedding meant nothing. It was so disappointing that we weren’t appreciated at the hotel and our stay was not made to feel special on our wedding day. I have raised these concerns with the hotel and they have completely ignored my messages - so it’s unfortunate that the aftercare is just as poor as the on-site customer service we experienced.
