If you need a little ime away, Prairie Meadows is a great choice with good food, entertainment and time in the casino,atMany other nearby attractions as well. Our room was clean and tidy. It smelled clean and the si gle serve coffee pot was also appreciated. Thanks for making our stay GREAT

My sister and I got married in a double wedding 50 years ago and due to family obligations decided on a small trip to celebrate. We live near KC Mo. We chose to go to Prairie Meadows Hotel in Altoona Iowa. A great choice! The staff is so nice and helpful and when my daughter told them we were celebrating our 50 th anniversary they upgraded both our rooms to these wonderful suites!! Everything looked so new. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and we will definitely go back. Thank you Altoona staff from the maids to the front desk you were all awesome!!

Very clean room, friendly staff, quiet efficient AC, nice amenities. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Lots of places to eat within the grounds and around the area. The ****** was also very nice - having a non-smoking ****** area was wonderful.

Spent one night (Sunday) at the hotel in order to attend the horse races. Had a junior suite on the 4th floor. Booked directly with the hotel for about $200. The rate included breakfast. The floor had just been refurbished and the room was beautiful and spacious. I did not expect much from a "free" breakfast, but it was great. Steak and eggs and perfect hash browns. Looking forward to a return trip.

We were given 3 different prices. When we checked out we wanted to pay cash. We were told the “new” director had goofed up our reservation and the price he had as a total was $68.22. We all knew this was a mistake however there was no way to correct the director’s mistake. The next day we received a call and, because they had our card on file, they were charging our card for their mistake. We had no option but to pay.

As the hotel was under renovation, we were upgraded to a premium room after the room we were originally booked in was no longer available due to the remodel going on. The room was vey nice, so clean and fresh. Bed were very comfortable. All of the fixtures were new or updated. I thought the room was slightly smaller than an average queen but we enjoyed it immensely. The rate was higher than expected but I wanted to stay at the hotel to attend an event so it worked out. The staff at the desk and housekeeping as well were all so very nice, polite and professional. Also we ate the next morning at the Meadows Cafe and it was a great experience as well.

Purchased through a third party provider, was very happy with the hotel. Clean, secure, and quiet; except AC or such was louder when it turned on. Right off I-80, would stay again, very happy with this hotel. We travel often.
