The location is just perfect, in the main square of the town. All attractions are easy to reach. My room had the balcony towards the wonderful municipal garden, so the atmosphere was very quiet, with just the birds singing all day long. The staff is very kind and helped me every time when needed. The only less satisfactory point was the breakfast: every day the same, the warm food was not so warm and, even more disappointing, no vegetable except for a few lettuce leaves and some fried tomatoes. Nothing else...
good hotel, with good an kind staff. Nice room and bathroom. Very rich breakfast buffet incredibly useful internal parking, since in the roads you have to pay. possibly the temperature in the common areas, like reception or breakfast is a bit too cold
This bed and breakfast absolutely lived up to its name! Once a hostel in Angra do Heroísmo, it is now a boutique hotel with wonderfully bright and cozy common areas. Breakfast is included, walking distance to downtown, and everything is spotless, but the very best were the staff! Laura Almeida at reception was so attentive and helpful with everything, checking in often to ensure we had everything we needed. She encouraged us to see many things we might have written off due to weather, and we were so glad that we took her advice! She is definitely the jewel in the crown 👑
The Shipyard was a wonderful hotel for a family Stay. The design was contemporary and lovely. We had 2 adults and 2 kids in our group and it was perfect as us parents had the room and the kids stayed on a comfortable sofa bed in the living room. The apartments were very well-equipped and spacious. I highly recommend this to a family looking for a place to stay in Terceira. The location was also lovely as it was close enough to the old part of the city and the port for all the water activities. Breakfast was lovely as well. They had a buffet for standard fare like fruit bread and other breakfast items, but you could order from a menu for eggs and coffee orders. Overall very complete solid breakfast offering. Added bonus was the covered underground parking.
ゲゲストLocation in heart of city can't be beat, at least not in mid price range: surrounded by shopping and restaurants. Front desk staff could not be nicer, always available and eager to help. A lady who works hard to keep breakfast food stocked, and there's a delicious cake/sweetbread on offer. Small but clean, efficient room, and I had a Juliet balcony overlooking Rua da Rosa; photo of town harbor as wall art. I had a nice sized bathroom and shower; a tripmate complained of a tiny, flooding shower, so maybe I was lucky. Would be nice to have a small area somewhere with a set of dumbbells just to keep in shape, especially with all the irresistible food around.
ゲゲストEven though the hotel is 2 stars there are basic standards that even a 2 star hotel should have. For example, the toilet brush was disgustingly rotten and dirty (it costs 2€ to buy a new one). The showers had curtains that were also dirty and sticked to the body when we were having a shower. We do understand that the bathroom is from the 60s but we believe that even a bathroom from the 60s can be improved with the time. There was a sock under the bed which implies that the bedroom wasn’t clean. The air conditioner was broken and in an island extremely humid and in the middle of the summer, this is not very nice. The paper cups in the bathroom, that even though we understand they are planet friendly, were disgusting and could be replaced by glass ones instead. The breakfast was extremely poor. The instant coffee was very bad, there wasn’t any fruit and if you’re a person that doesn’t eat bread or sugary cereal there wasn’t any other option available. It has indeed an amazing location, but since the island is so small, any other hotel will do. Nevertheless, if you like camping this hotel is perfect.
