My wife and I went to Helen for a quick getaway and we really enjoyed our visit. The hotel was well maintained and appeared to be recently renovated. All of the staff were personable and the breakfast with the new cinnamon rolls was great as always. We would definitely stay here again if/when we return to Helen.
We arrived late for our check in. The front desk was very nice and welcoming as she processed our check in. We were asked for our floor preference which does not happen at other hotels. And lI appreciated this. We only stayed overnight. The hallway is clean and pleasant smelling. We got to our room and it was perfect temperature. The room was quiet. You don’t hear any noise from the neighboring room. The free wifi worked awesome unlike other hotels I have stayed at. Shower stall was clean. There were enough towels. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Helen.
The first room we were given was very beat up and different color paint on areas of the wall. Bed nearest the window not very comfortable with springs coming up. Asked for and moved to a second room. Much better room but still had leaky spigot in bathroom near base and a blind that would not go up all the way. No table on the balcony. Very small room for a resort hotel? TV and internet worked fine. View was nice. Exterior is very nice with a large park like space near the river where the pet locations were. The interior was dark and dreary and dirty. Serious renovation needed. The elevator floor war dirty and remained that way our entire stay. Would not stay here again.
Room was fine service ok. I was triple billed even though I pre paid. Over 1400 held out of my account. Emptied my account on 2nd day on trip. So wasn't able to get breakfast or dinner for 2 days. No help from baymount Windham. All problems blamed on system error. Watch your card charges.
