We spent 3 nights at this hotel. Nice room & clean, pleasant bathroom with toiletries & very good hairdryer. Comfortable bed & spacious room. We were on 5th floor. Although pedestrian street, can unload luggage easily & park at nearby underground garage, which was arranged by hotel. All staff very pleasant & helpful. No breakfast offered but cafes literally across the street. Extremely reasonable priced. Would recommend,
Firstly the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful! And that isn't the case in all hotels! We felt very welcome. We were even offered a kettle and hot drinks making stuff - without us having to ask! We were given good advice about where to eat in town. The underground carpark is easily accessed and easy to negotiate, once we knew where we were going! Lift access directly into the hotel. Our room was clean and very spacious. Plenty of storage space and everything that should be in a hotel room was there. Breakfast was very adequate, although I didn't sample the cooked food. The waiting staff were polite and very helpful. Access to the city was easy, and although I think we would be challenged to be able to walk to the cathedral in 10 minutes (as advertised somewhere!). Allow at least 15 minutes, plus a couple of hours ”shopping time” on the way! The old parts of the city are interesting with little squares and occasional markets to be explored. What else is there to say? Very good value for money!
We stayed at Eurostars Hotel de la Reconquista and found it to be a pleasant experience overall. The location is perfect, with parking available and within walking distance of the main shopping street, the historical district, and numerous excellent restaurants. The hotel's historical charm is evident, especially in the common areas decorated with period paintings and furnishings, which give you the feeling of stepping back in time as you enjoy a cerveza on the beautiful antique chairs. The hotel is clean, and our room was well-maintained daily. However, the rooms could benefit from a refresh. Additionally, the service, particularly at the reception, needs an upgrade to enhance the overall guest experience.
This was a very classy hotel where we had a lovely comfortable room with excellent shower facilities. We didn’t use the bar, dining facilities or breakfast because we were worn out from our travelling the previous day and just wanted to get a rest. I’d recommend the city because it has a beautiful old town that is a short walk from the hotel. We happened to stay when the San Mateo festival was finishing so were able to enjoy some of the street music and activities that happened over the weekend.
A fabulous building left from the hand of God by the town hall. You will enjoy excellent rooms, views (if there is no fog) good - depending on the room-. I understand that the location is not central, but Oviedo is not a big city, and in a short time you are anywhere, on foot. What is a pity is that the building has not been turned into a tourist destination (France or Italy would put it in the guides), leaving it to wither in isolation. We already know that Calatrava does not finish a work without anger, and the promise that the cover would move was not fulfilled. But the building is spectacular. The downside, without a restaurant in a hotel of such category, forces you to make plans away from it. People, room, cleanliness. Good Elevators should improve, bootlenecks occur. Place, not centered, but you can walk to the downtown in 10'
MMardi SWe chose Gijon at random, just because it was halfway between two other towns we were visiting, and we were very glad we did, it’s charming. What made the two night stay even better was this wonderful hotel. We had a junior suite, which was huge and extremely comfortable, the staff are lovely and it’s very well located. We thoroughly recommend El Moderne.
We specifically booked at this hotel for the Spa and Swimming Pool facilities to revive our weary bodies as we were hiking and cycling the Camino Del Norte . After check in we were advised that the Spa is closed and the swimming pool only opens on 1 June. This was not mentioned on their website or on ***********. The receptionist was unwelcoming and didn't bother to greet us. When we asked for a cup of hot water, the man that delivered it to our room almost broke the door down and was very rude to us. We wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone. This hotel is adjacent to an industrial area and we experienced noises throughout the night. The bed was terribly hard and I rolled around all night. You would be far better off to travel an extra 20 km and stay in Tapia de Casariego on the beach.
ゲゲストWe booked this hotel due to its location not far from Real Oviedo football ground. We visited Oviedo for my son’s birthday and to go to football match. Room was triple deluxe room which was large enough for the 3 of us. Bathroom was large and more than adequate. Shower very powerful. Toiletries included, including toothpaste and toothbrushes. Beds were comfortable and wardrobe large enough for what we needed. Cafe in the hotel was nice and very reasonably priced. Staff in cafe and on reception were lovely Downside - air conditioning did not work in room and when I spoke to reception they said that it had been turned on - it seems that this is centrally controlled and even though we turned room temperature down to 16 and turned fan high, we could not get the air conditioning to work which meant the room was far too hot and I slept approx 8 hours over 3 nights due to the heat. Another issue was we were shocked to discover there were no tea and coffee facilities in the room - we have never been to a hotel that did not provide tea and coffee and we found this a huge let down
OOdyssey63137005433Loving Gijon for remaining Spanish and not going for mass tourism, and, having stayed at the Abba in San Sebastien, we were very much looking forward to our two night stay here. The prices is what should have made us aware of the differences and not just because of differing geographical positions. During our stay, there was nowhere to sit outside during the day when the temperature was excellent even in a stiff breeze. The swimming pool is only open for three months to early September although never found it in any case! The Roof Terrace which is excellent with tables snd settees only opens at 17.00 - why? For hotel information you have yo go the ubiquitous internet site which gives more questions than answers and herself loves to read the printed information which is a lot more referable! The rooms are smaller (but comfortable enough) but totally lack sound proofing as clearly heard the busy traffic below all day, people in other rooms and moving in the corridor. Parking underneath was spacious and readily available during out stay. No food, from end of lunch, is apparently available anywhere in the hotel until 20.00 in the evening and the same, rather simple, menu is served in the bar and internal dining room. I would add, though, it is pretty good and remarkably cheap! It is a good 10/15 minute walk to central town and maybe 20/30 to the old town area for oldies like us. It was an adequate stay but would not be looking to repeat it on our next visit to this city
AAlzy32Check in was easy and smooth. It’s an old building and budget hotel which is clear once you enter the room. It has no heating, air-conditioning or fan available in the room. There’s no telephone to contact the front desk either. This can be problematic when the person in the room across from you starts shouting with someone on his cellphone at 23:30 and does not stop for an hour. I reverted to using ear-plugs but it still wasn’t ideal. I didn’t feel very safe and as a result was reluctant to report the disturbance.
