It was an amazing and unique vacation, the staff are so friendly, supportive, Robin is one of the great team, and she made our vacation, she helped us and suggested couple of adventures which were so extraordinary, we love her and we will definitely come again for see her beautiful smile.
This was such a lovely hotel. The apartment was super clean and very spacious. The view of the ocean was stunning! We felt immediately relaxed in it and had all the things in the apartment we needed to live comfortably and conveniently on our family holiday. We all LOVED the indoor pool and spa, games room and gym. We would definitely book to stay here again when we next travel to the gold coast!!! Having such great accommodation was a highlight of our trip!
STAY HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK. The room at this resort harmed my children, was extremely poorly maintained and the customer service, and lack of care from management, was the worst I have ever experienced. We paid over $600 a night to stay in a 2 bedroom apartment and here were all the issues we experienced: - The room had multiple maintenance issues, many of which are a health and safety concern, and two issues brought physical harm to our children: there was an issue with their fridge which did not keep our food at a safe temperature causing our children to be sick. After bringing this to their attention there was no concern showed for the wellbeing of our children, no apology made, instead they told us that our matter was not urgent and, even worse, placed the blame on us, accusing us of “tampering” with their appliance. Why I would tamper with an appliance to cause my own children to be sick is unfathomable to me and it is clear that placing the blame on the customer was to avoid the very reasonable request I made of being reimbursed for the food that was wasted due to their faulty fridge ($81 for fridge items and $62 for breakfast out when we discovered that the milk had gone off despite being in date and only recently being opened). A small compensation in the scheme of an over $6600 stay. My child is still suffering medically a month after the stay and the manager has told us to employ a solicitor and that they will not compensate us. The hot water tap in the ensuite was broken, when rotating the tap to turn it off, it never turned to be completely off, instead it continued to rotate and the hot water came back on full blast scalding our child (a plumber came 3 days later to fix it, there was no apology made based on the harm that resulted). After the ensuite shower issue we then used the main bathroom shower which was blocked and caused flooding all over the bathroom and carpet into the hall (carpet remained uncomfortably wet for 2 days after this incident). Other maintenance issues included: the light globe in the laundry was not working upon arrival, there were insufficient kitchen utensils / supplies which was resolved when we informed them (one would think this would be checked beforehand), the child safety chain on the loungeroom blinds was broken, the door stop on the front door was broken, there were stains all over the carpet, holes in almost every wall, ripped cushions on the outdoor furniture, and the cot supplied (at additional cost) was musty and had cobwebs on it requiring me to clean it. - The spa in the common area was filthy. - Check in time was 2pm, at 2pm the room wasn’t ready, it was still being cleaned. Reception said that they would message us when the room was ready. Never received a message. - The room was supposed to supply milk, dishwasher powder, dishwashing liquid and laundry liquid. These were not supplied and we had to request them. The milk had not been delivered and then was never supplied. For your own
Family So i booked a 1 bedroom garden view room for 2 adults and 1 child for 4 nights between Christmas and New Year through ***********. When i phoned the property to advise them that i would be checking in late in the afternoon...i also asked did the lounge in the apartment happen to fold out into a bed for my child. The lady on the phone tried to tell me...'look im sorry but we cant have you stay in that room with a child for health and safety regulations'. With being told that i wad rather confused as i knew that i had added ny child to the booking. I had one of the reception staff phone me back and tell me they would move my booking and upgrade it to a 2 bedroom because i had 1 child and that i would lose my 4th night of the accomodation and owe a difference of $200. The next day i went and discussed this with the reception staff who were rude and took no accountability for the booking issue. How dare they try and charge me $200 extra because i was so called up graded for a dirty apartment that wasnt what i originally booked. I expressed my frustrations to both reception staff who were adamant i pay the $200 extra and told me that they didnt recieve the information a child wad booked for that room. What a joke!!! I showed them my email from *********** which clearly showed a child added. You cant tell me that a couple with one kid books a 2 bedroom..what rubbish. I also asked to see this written in their policy but never got a copy. Reception staff tried to tell me that only a child in a cot is acceptable. What an absolute joke They werent one bit empathetic or helpful. I told them they should be the ones reaching out to *********** so the difference is compensated. I then phoned *********** to discuss my concerns regarding my accomodation and was told i did not need to pay the extra. Thank god i reached out to ***********. This place was also filthy and unclean. The oven had been used and not cleaned, the shower was covered in mould everywhere. Place is filthy with mould and dust. The reception staff need sacking...rudest so called receptionists i have ever met especially the one with orange hair.
First the good. Simply the best view / location on the Gold Coast. If you want to literally roll out of bed and onto the sand and into the surf then this is to he place to be. Its close to all types of eateries and Tedder Ave is just a short walk away and its just far enough out of Surfers to be away from the hustle and bustle. The staff seemed ok although we didn't have a lot to do with them and the pool / gym / bbq and gardens all looked clean and well kept. The bathroom and toilet are pretty modern and clen but water pressure in the shower was not great - I think there was a water saving device fitted so maybe that's why and fair enough. Not So Good Our unit (1201) was pretty old and tired and could do with some love and a good revamp. The thing that got me though was after arriving after all day in the car the until was hot and stuffy so I turned the A/c on only to find it caked in a black mould like substance. There was also this same substance on most of the window blinds and the curtain rails in bed 2, I can totally understand the battering this complex takes from 24/7 surf / salt air / wind and sun so I can overlook and bit of water marks and rust issues but mould is a no no. I can also understand the huge demand for the unit and that it may not be possible for housekeeping to do a deep clean for each new guest but this A/c looked like it had not had a clean for months and that's not good. Maybe the first of every month an extra hour or so is taken to do the deep clean to ensure the whole unit is in tip top condition but it really needs to be looked at or reviews like this will grow. In the end we just chose not to use the A/c and just used the breeze from open doors and windows to provide relief from the summer heat - I'm only glad that the weather was not too hot. The phots I've attached don't really show the mould issues in the A/c with the main issues being behind the grills although it does give an idea.. Would I sat here again - maybe but I would want to go up to the unit and have a look before formally checking in
