Unfortunately the Pool and Hotel were under mainteance and the Sea was off limits due to Ecoli count. I am disabled and Flew down. with no where to go and no where to swim, i was stuck. I then found out other guests were notified when booking there trip. I was NOT. i complained at the time and was told somethung would be done to compensate the bad experience ... I am still waiting ovwer a year later and have not been back since. Word of advice check what is happening renovation or maintenance wise and check what the current testing levvels of Ecoli are or you could be in for a nasty shock.

Was moved to a different room on a daily. The place needs a serious renovations ... Owners needs to into this.

All the stuff was wlcming frm reception porters maintenance the restaurant thank u so much lamontagne stuff can't wait 2 cm back excellent service guys. The food was amazing the beach view the pool and the facility thank u so much.

I had an amazing time from the minute I walked into reception. Just sitting on the sun deck and taking in the magnificent ocean view, whilst enjoying cocktails from B-Bar & pizza from Montnelli's Pizzeria.

Thank you so much for amazing food & friendly faces. Definitely the best food & friendliest staff my whole ballito trip. All the staff is so patient & willing to help with a smile on their faces. So good to be treated like that.

It was good , but the ants , especially getting onto our food was not nice

Was very pleased with the room and comfortable bed. All restaurants supplied excellent food at reasonable prices . The hotel however needs a few updated /improvements. Paint was peeling off boxes on rooms veranda, headboards need replacing .Parking spaces for SUV or large cars, very tight with pillars to maneuver around.

No Airconditioning, no electricity, no water, no answers, the 2 night trip went on and on like this and none of the staff had any comfort or answers. We literally could not flush toilets because of the water shortage. It is hot as anything in durban and every staff member you ask has a different story about why the Aircon is off, none of them a consistent or promising. This place is an absolute dump

One of the most horrible holiday venues i ever been to. The restaurant manager was obiously an unseasoned immature lady who is new to this sort of business, zero management ettiquette, the food was below average, the place was generally dirty. A definite no-go if you looking for an upmarket classy vacation. Very low level.

This is the worst place i have been to and i holiday often my story is too long and horrible however i will not advise anyone to holiday in this place ever the restaurant managers behavior was appalling the hotels management even worse

Booked the hotel for location and access to the beach. The room patio door had no key and could not be locked or closed from the outside, negating the advertised beach access. Key eventually arranged by maintenance staff, but was informed by them that the door could not be fully secured, this apparently is a problem for all rooms with a patio access. The beach access was recommended to us by locking the patio door from inside, depart room using the front door and go down through the hotel corridors to the beach.

Wow wow what an amazing ecperience!!!! My husband got sick during our conference and Shamini the manager went out of her way to assist!!! The staff is friendly and very helpful!!! They are clearly very happy!!! Wel done to all!!!

As pensioners, my wife and I were seeing forward to our week at La Montagne. After driving for nine hours, we were told, very abruptly by the receptionist, that we are to early ( 14:00) and that we have to wait, with other couples, until 15:00 to occupy our rooms. When we got to our room, the aircon was less efficient than a fan set on low ( aircon thermometer read 33 degrees ). As our room was on the top floor, we had to cope with direct sun on the roof above us. We called reception a couple of times and they sent maintenance to fix the aircon without any success. During the course of the week the other occupants on the top floor were standing in the passage to cool down. Saturday and Sunday the pool area was filled to capacity with people. We then found out that it was day visitors that was allowed onto the premises with their own food and drink. When we went down to the pool area to spend the day there there was no place available to the booked in, residents. We specifically booked out of season to miss the crowds and then this happened. Fortunately there are other better managed accomodation available in Ballito.

The hotel is very shabby. Cracks in the walls, some apartments are modern and some have not been updated. We were promised two rooms next to each other but the other half of the family ended up on the other side of the hotel. The aircon was broken. 30 degree heat, multiple rooms complaining. The service in the Pizza restaurant was disgusting. Waited 30 minutes for drinks and the kids drinks should have came first and they came last. We were the only table in there! Food was okay. Room service for food was also bad. Ordered Pizza and it came cold on two occasions . I feel there is a bit of false advertising as the website makes it seem they have 3 separate restaurants but it all comes from the same kitchen. I think they were short on waiting staff. The pool area was well manned. The life guard was very good at keeping on eye on the kids. The beach was lovely! Quiet and clean. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again.
