This is one hotel I won't be returning to. The staff that checked us in were less than hospitable in my opinion. I felt that the woman all but sneered at us when they asked why we were in Ohio and I responded with that we were there to see the eclipse and joked that 90 percent of the people that were checking in probably were too. She agreed, but it was as if we were a bother to her. In my opinion it felt like the two that checked us in didn't have a hospitable, welcoming bone in their bodies. Perhaps there many military guests don't mind being treated like that (that's a big population they serve), but the average traveler doesnt. We traveled across 4 states to get here, and stayed at multiple hotels during our trip, and this was the worst. Definitely not the worst hotel I've ever stayed at, but the worst on the trip. Stay here if you don't have any other options, but don't expect much. Grout was chipping out of the wall in the tub, and there was black stuff around the edge of the tub and the faucet. I don't know if it was mold, but it didn't look clean. The corner of the bathroom didn't look clean either. It was in need of repairs and deep cleaning. The furniture was all dated and stuffy. At one point in it's life, it probably looked regal, but everything is all old orangy stained wood that's been out of style for a while. The bed was old lumpy and uncomfortable. The fold out sofa mattress looked old and squished to less than an inch thick. I don't know if it was comfortable, because I didn't sleep on it - but it certainly didn't look comfortable. And we had to move the couch so it could be pulled out and not hit the wall with the AC unit in it - a poorly planned space. It also took 45 minutes to get bedding for the sofa bed, and then they provided a fitted sheet that was MUCH too large. Why that wasn't already in the room is beyond me. The only thing that this place had going for it, was that the breakfast was decent - even if we weren't given our pre-paid breakfast vouchers right away at check-in and were told that breakfast was $14.99... And the wait staff and person at the desk at checkout were pleasant. They need to make some big changes if I were to ever return.
The front desk girl Jen at Red Roof Inn provided the best service I’ve ever experienced. At the time of Checkout she was helpful and friendly. She provided excellent recommendations and ensured all my needs were met promptly. Her positive attitude and dedication to her job are truly commendable. Thank you for making my stay so pleasant! Surely coming again
We had a very nice stay at this hotel. Our room was comfortable, quiet, and clean. The location was excellent. It was an easy, scenic 25-minute drive to the Greene County Fairgrounds, where we were attending the Hamvention amateur radio event. It was also close to many restaurants and stores. A special thank you to the many exceptionally nice staff members: Paul and the two ladies (whose names I didn’t get) working the front desk, and the friendly and hardworking housekeeping staff. The only person who was crabby was the breakfast lady, but the others were so nice that they cancelled her out. We hope to stay here again for next year’s Hamvention.
