ルレ & シャトー ウィースハイス ゴーダ(Relais & Chateaux Weeshuis Gouda)

Our stay at Weeshuis was above and beyond our expectations! Our plane was late in arriving in Amsterdam, but the staff at Weeshuis stayed afterhours to ensure that we were well taken care of and received an amazing welcome upon arrival. We decided to celebrate our 38th Wedding Anniversary with a trip to the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. We are so glad that we chose Weeshuis, because it was walking distance to all the important historical areas and best shopping in Gouda (chocolate and antique tiles and cheese, of course.) Plus, the restaurant at Lizz was absolutely deserving of their Michelin Star (both food and service). All of the local people we met are fantastic and so friendly. We stayed on the third floor during the wedding in May, and we never heard anything in our room. We loved staying here so much, that we are thinking of returning the next time our plane flies thru Schipol Airport. Be sure to see the Cheese Market on Thursday (April thru September). We love Weeshuis Hotel!

I have enjoyed my stay so much at Relais & Chateaux! This hotel is one of the best hotels I've stayed in with the kindest and most helpful staff, amazing and very comforting accommodations, a wonderful & delicious breakfast and restaurant right on the grounds - it was beyond my expectations and I wish every hotel I stayed at would be the experience that I had at R&C. I want to thank the wonderful staff for all they do to make guests feel very welcomed and taken care of! I look forward to being back when I visit Gouda again!

The only hotel so to speak in Gouda proper, and an absolutely charming Relais & Châteaux at that (the other one is at the edge of the old town, and is part of a 3-and-a-half giant American brand). Modern, quirky rooms in an old structure. Unobtrusive, first-class service. The buffet breakfast, while not international, is fabulous.

Located in a perfect area to walk all the old town of Gouda. R & C Weeshuis Gouda is a recently renovated orphanage from the 17th century (?) and beautifully done! We stayed in room 44 (on the 3rd floor), not sure why the rooms are numbered in this fashion but they are (see photo of elevator). Room was a junior suite with good space and ONE window that opened for fresh air (otherwise the air was stale). Breakfast was fantastic, staff was very helpful and LIZZ (one star Michelin restaurant) was top notch for a great lunch. Overall a 5 star stay. Thanks!

I think this is the best place to stay in Gouda, very cozy hotel most especially during Christmas time. Its in the center just behind the cathedral and the cheese shop, staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was spacious and very clean. It has a very comfortable bed. Very good breakfast too!

Was a very cosy and nice hotel, we just booked our second stay for christmas. Very friendly staff, great vibe and good servoice incl food and very easy tjek in.

It’s a fantastic hotel. The rooms are comfortable and a bit quirky given that it’s a very old building. Some rooms have a staircase separating the living and sleeping areas. Location is perfect with a short walk to the market and many restaurants with terraces and of course shops. I only had breakfast and it’s very good. The staff is super friendly.

Stay here if you want to be surrounded by rich history and close by to shopping and restaurants. The rooms are great, the staff will make you feel right at home and the breakfast is delicious! If you are visiting Gouda, there is no better place to stay.

Excellent communication - we had issues with our flight & arrived a day late and the hotel was extremely helpful and reassuring of being able to check in late and what to do if after reception hours. Super hotrl with freat staff
