Hotel was really nice, bar, restaurant really good. The room was good, the gardens were fantastic, so nice to sit outside. Cocktail bar was good fun.

We celebrated our sons communion day in the hotel, the staff went above and beyond with great attention to detail to make Seans day special - much appreciated.

This hotel has undergone a massive transformation coupled with staff who are passionate about thier hotel I was very pleased and would wholeheartedly recommend this property to all If u find an issue with this property I would be shocked A five star experience in a four star hotel

I recently stayed at this hotel having attended a family wedding. The venue and bedroom was very nice and without fault. The service and food was way below par for a hotel with a highly rated standard. Whilst I acknowledge staff are in short supply, the staff on site were poorly mannered. The breakfast was not a pleasant experience. The food was substandard and there was no option other than the laid out fare in the bambarines. On asking if an omelette was an option I was abruptly told no. Turning to the cold plates I found cellophane wrapped cheeses and a ball of smoked salmon alongside poorly presented fruit. I cannot understand why a table service was not offered. With the wonderful local produce such as mossfield cheese and rudds bacon produced in Birr and environs why were they not available. Having paid €230 for b&b I was highly disappointed.

Overpriced and unfriendly. The rooms are not worth the €200 per night (per person) price tag. There wasn’t a bottle of water or teabag in the rooms, and when we queried this we were told it’s for “environmental reasons”, even though there are Nespresso machines in the rooms, which are about as un-environmentally-friendly as it gets. They took money from my card without telling me and were rude and unhelpful when I asked about it. They don’t take cancellations, even though I tried to cancel a second night with more than 24 hours notice. The decor is cheap and the bar would be well placed down the back streets of Reno, Nevada. I will never stay here again.

A wonderful place with a beautiful garden to stroll and relaxing. Full leisure facilities. The pool, sauna and ofuro were very relaxing. High quality food and excellent service. I highly recommend it.

Excellent hotel inside and out! Friendly staff lovely for families or quiet weekend away stunning grounds

Stayed here for two nights recently, was very happy with everything on offer. Staff were very helpful and friendly in all parts of the hotel. We had dinner in bar 62 on one of the nights, food was superb with a wide selection on the menu. The breakfast in Hacketts restaurant was also excellent. The grounds of the hotel are beautifully maintained and would make an ideal wedding venue. Would highly recommend staying here.
