We occupied a spacious top-floor room with a balcony and a delightful view. The young lady at the front desk, hailing from Poland, was truly hospitable; however, this was the extent of our positive experience. The hotel building seemed to have some underlying issues, evidenced by constant, mysterious ticking noises that persistently disrupted our sleep during the night. The dining hall appeared to be partially functional, with three different front desks, but only one was operational. During breakfast, I spotted a grand and impressive Espresso machine and inquired about a cappuccino. To my disappointment, I was informed that the Espresso machine was exclusively for staff use. Instead, I was directed to a cheap, one-click automated coffee maker with a "cappuccino" option. Such behavior from the hotel management is not only discourteous but also a glaring example of poor customer service. I earnestly urge prospective guests reading this review to explore alternative accommodation options when planning a stay in Borgarnes.
