After our car broke down en route to the ferry, we checked in to 2 adjoining family rooms for the night. All the staff were absolutely fantastic - from the happy chap on Reception, to the brilliant bar team who kept us topped up with drinks and snacks while we re-booked ferries and trains. In the morning, the heavens opened and we were given two umbrellas to take with us as we made our way to the train station. Overall, we felt hugely welcomed and looked after by the team at the ibis, through what was a rather stressful event.

This was our second stay at this budget hotel. We were allocated a ground floor room at the back of the hotel and were able to park right outside the room, which was perfect. The room was very quiet and the bed was unbelievably comfortable; much more comfortable than my bed at home! There was plenty of hot water and the shower was very powerful. Tip: Bring your own kettle as the rooms do not have one. There is a microwave in reception for anyone to use.

Let’s be honest, what were you expecting for €60 odd Euros? The sheets and towels were clean. The staff had a welcome smile. Sure the window curtain hung badly, the shower curtain was none existant, the security lock had the day off, and the paintwork was older than me! One night, 2 dogs and a tired wife. Worked for us. Not sure when or if we will repeat the experience but we were up early for a long drive south and that counted for a lot.

We arrived here as part of a road trip to Spain, and it was excellent. Access was easy, the accomodation was large enough for all 6 of us, everything was very clean, and there was a lot of appliances / etc to make life easy. The beds were comfortable, showers worked nicely. We did not have the breakfast so cannot comment on that, but there was a boulangerie about 3 min walk from the place and that was great and had a lot to offer - also a small supermarket. Had everything we needed and exceeded our expectations - would deffo stay here and consider now any Evancy as an option.

Many (30 or so) years ago we lived in France and stayed in a couple of the Barierre hotels in Deauville. The overall impression was one of faded grandeur - beautiful buildings, the decor not exactly tatty but a bit old school. Nowadays we regularly visit Northern France and have often though about staying here but baulked a bit at the price and also our recollection of the Deauville properties - would it be worth it ? Being a bit flush recently we took the plunge and were not disappointed. The whole place is decorated to a high standard which is new and immaculate but nonetheless faithful to the Art Deco heritage. Service is flawless - polite, friendly, efficient. It's not cheap but if you are in the area and want to push the boat out it's thoroughly recommended. This B&B Hotel is a 3* hotel, so we expected it to be better than the 2* B&B Hotels where we had stayed before, but it wasn't. We booked a disabled room to guarantee a ground floor room. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but there weren't any other positives. The shower head was too high to reach, so a disabled person would not be able to use the shower. When we turned on the shower, the angle of the spray was so close to the wall that it was impossible to get under the shower without touching the shower controls. Also, there was a lot of water dripping down the back of the shower head, which didn't make for a good showering experience. However, the main problem with this hotel was that it was swarming with French Police Officers. It seems they use the hotel as a base and the car park was full of police cars and vans. The following morning, the police officers were using the cafe area as a meeting place, which was rather intimidating. They were also using the entrance of the hotel as a smoking area, which made us feel very uncomfortable. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, so you'll need to bring your own kettle, mugs, tea bags and milk.
