On the beach, search for shark’s teeth from prehistoric sharks that lived in the Chesapeake Bay.* Guests should be aware that there are jellyfish in the Chesapeake Bay in the summer (typically July and August but can be as early as June and late as early September if it’s very hot and dry). They like warm, salty waters so their numbers vary with the rain and tides. Sometimes, there aren’t many jellyfish, depending on time of day or current, but other times there are a lot. And if it has recently rained, they get pushed out to sea and there are none. It is out of our control and really luck of the draw. A studio apartment sits on a hill. You will have to walk up stairs from the parking oad and a grassy hill (can be considered a mildly steep incline). Its also within a short walking or driving distance of three private beaches in our community. There is 1 bedroom with a queen size bed, spacious bathroom and closet. The living room has a pull out full size bed and a kitchenette. Coffee, teas, beach chairs, cooler, fishing poles and tackle are provided. Guests have access to the above garage apartment ( not the garage /basement),Shared spaces and items: Parking pad (each Cottage on the Bay & Studio on the Bay get ONE space EACH) this is a tight fit…two large vehicles will not fit comfortably, best suited for mid size to compact vehicles, additional parking can be provided ONE block away from the property, fire pit area/back yard, two kayaks and two paddle boards are available for use and are shared with Studio on the Bay guests.Updated 8/28/2023: to include a 3 person Hot Springs Jacuzzi, this is a shared amenity.
