I stayed in this hotel over the Bank Holiday weekend from Sat 4 to Mon 6 May. I thought the hotel was rather shabby despite its recent renovation, but it was overall reasonable value, especially since I had made my booking some months in advance. My experience in the hotel was, however, overshadowed by the fact that throughout my stay I had no hot water in the shower. I arrived on Sat afternoon and wanted to take a shower before I went out for dinner, but was frustrated by the absence of hot water. I reported this to the front desk on leaving the hotel, but the desk was unattended on my return later in the evening so I was not able to check on progress. The next morning, there was again no hot water, which again I reported to the front desk and asked them please to have it fixed. On my return to the hotel in the evening, I was assured by the front desk staff that an engineer had visited during the day and that the shower was working. Nevertheless, the next morning there was still no hot water. I spent three days (two nights) in the hotel unable to take a shower. This is quite unacceptable.
