I arrived at this hotel and immediately encountered refurbishing work in progress. The front desk area was chaotic, with workers on the floor directly in front of thr Front Desk and it was unclear where guests should go. A woman behind the counter ignored me, leaving me confused until one of the workers directed me to the side of the counter. Surprisingly, the same woman who had been ignoring me then greeted me. I thought it was odd that she hadn't beckoned me over. The room itself was disappointing. As soon as I opened the door, I was hit by a strong moldy smell. The ceiling had large brown blotches, some of which were partially painted over. The AC unit worked but had a large rust patch on it. There was a hole in the ceiling and white unidentified splash marks on the bed frame. The bedside table was broken, and the pillows, though in clean cases, lacked protectors and were stained yellow. Due to the ongoing refurbishments I assumed the room was mistakenly given to me thinking it was completed, so i took some pictures and went back to the reception. The receptionist, ”Jenny or Janine,” was not interested in seeing the photos and informed me she would only move me once. Her attitude suggested that providing an acceptable room was somehow my responsibility. And she would not be inconvenienced by it. This was a work trip, so I decided to check out her ”take it or leave it” offer and deal with it later. The next room was slightly better, though the pillows still lacked protectors. A quick trip to Walmart solved that issue. The receptionist could definetly benefit from additional training. I would not recommend staying here, at least not during their renovation period.
I stayed at this hotel three nights. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. All of the staff were friendly. The location was by many restaurants and other local attractions. The breakfast area had a great view, and friendly staff. There was a variety of breakfast items included in the free buffet. Like many of the local hotels there is an additional charge for parking. (They do have a covered parking area.)
CCamdaOlder property in need of renovation. Breakfast one of the poorest we have had (Platinum member so stayed at many Towneplace) in terms of selection. Pool nice but no towels provided so had to ask reception both times we used. Staff friendly and helpful. Computer in lobby not working as wanted to print something. My husband slipped in bath- no mat provided and very slippery. Really object to being charged $3.87 + tax a night for parking. Why? Not a prime location. No need and greedy. Could at least waive for Platinum. Property on a very busy road.
Very nice staff and great value have stay here many times very little issues. Great location near tge beach and shops. We alway cone once a year for a week and this is where we stay. My family uses Truhilton a lot.
MMary SWe originally called Hampton Inn (which is next door) to book a room there. The lady gave us an incorrect address which was one number off. The lady kept assuring us it was the correct hotel. After it was booked and paid for, the hotel that she actually put us in was the Holiday Inn. Oh well. We get here and they put us in a room that was completely disheveled. It looked like someone had partially cleaned it but the bed sheets were wadded up in a chair, there were towels laying around on the floor, and furniture moved around, as well as various key cards on the table alongside a card that said “your room was cleaned by *name*” so we went down to get a new room. The second room was better. Around the room and the hotel there are: random stains, dents and paint chips, the elevator is extremely sketchy and feels/sounds like it’s going to get stuck or fall at any moment, and dark dingy lighting pretty much everywhere. Also, we went to the breakfast bar around 7 (opens at 6:30) and they were completely out of all fresh breakfast items such as eggs, sausage, etc. They did not refill it while we ate our dry bagels and there wasn’t anyone around to ask about it, and the waffle maker was out of order. Don’t book here if you want an updated hotel, a nice pool (it’s crappy), nice views, or a nice breakfast (or one at all). Otherwise the employees we did speak with were friendly and the second room we had was generally clean.
The rooms are very spacious, very clean, the staff is welcoming & always have smiles on their faces! Very attentive! Breakfast was good, coffee was always hot even during the day! Pool was great, the hot tub didn’t seem to bubble as much aa hoped for but still great! Absolutely loved it, will be returning back for sure!
BBrandy LSTAY ELSEWHERE!!! I never write reviews, but felt it was important so others don’t waste their money. The outside and lobby are deceiving. Once you turn down the hall is when the truth comes out. The halls smell musty. The elevator floor was chipped bad. We entered our first room and the main light in the bathroom was out. I let the front desk know. They moved us to a different room because the maintenance man was not there to put a new bulb. The new room was subpar and filthy. You could see smudges on the headboard where the clean pillows were leaning against it. There was a layer of dust buildup on the shelf below the sink. The curtains were torn. There was a good sized sticky spot on the carpet. The light bulb in the lamp was missing. There was writing on the furniture. The lid on the tank of the toilet didn’t even fit that toilet. You could hear everything going on in the rooms and hallway. The towels looked and felt to be about twenty years old. (No exaggeration) They were faded and rough. On the second day I passed by the laundry room and requested fresh towels and wash cloths. They said they didn’t have any clean ones but got our room number and said they would deliver some when they have some. I was about to enter my room and saw a housekeeper a few doors down with a load of fresh towels, so I asked her for some. She would only give me two towels. I let her know that I booked the room for four people and needed four towels. She refused to give them to me and told me to take it up with the front desk. The only reason I ended up with four towels is because the nice lady in laundry kept her word and delivered the towels I requested earlier. The hotel staff (other than the nice laundry lady) and management do not care about the customer. If they did then these problems would not still be going on. Read the previous reviews from 2023. Those customers were complaining about how filthy the place is and management replied to their reviews stating that they appreciated their feedback and take it seriously. They do not. Nothing has been done to remedy the issues. This place is filthy. It needs new management, lots of deep cleaning and updating. I added photos. I hope they come out clear and you are able to zoom in to see the details.
