Any service-oriented business is only as good as its employees. To that end, I am a ”Titanium Elite” Marriott Rewards member with over 90 nights per year at Marriott properties. Michael at the front desk of Westin Jekyll Island Beach Resort is as good as it gets. This particular trip was not for work, and while I am a frequent visitor to Jekyll Island, it was my first stay at this hotel. With Hurricane Milton coming, I had a few issues that Michael helped me through. One was being unable to get the guest internet to work. Nothing seemed to get me access and I had a virtual business meeting I needed to get online for. He recognized the urgency and was able to troubleshoot it by giving me the staff wifi password, which saved me. Later, I was concerned about hurricane flooding and the street outside is much lower than the property. I was unable to find the valet so Michael took ownership of the situation and let me park under the overhang out front. His dedication to customer satisfaction is without equal.
Once our room location was rearranged, all things fell into place. Jekyll is steeped in history that needs to be sought out, beautiful drives lined with spanish moss trees, and beautiful spots for ”down time”, and, and, and. Enjoyed the hotel's beautiful waterfront walkways, inviting lounge chairs, on-site eateries and other island selections. Breakfast staff greeted us as though they were welcoming us home!! Excellent service and attention. Cuodos! We will definitely return! Soon!
We had a great time at this property. Very friendly staff that went that extra mile to help. Room was one of the best handicapped accessible rooms that we have ever stayed at. Lots of things to do on Jekyll Island, great nature walks.
