BED BUGS IN ROOM! I stayed in Premier Inn Brighton City Centre at the beginning of October. It is a large hotel with hundreds of rooms and there is musty smell around the various floors and in the rooms, so it is in need of refurbishment. Putting that aside, my 3 nights stay was a disturbing and painful experience as each morning, I woke up with more and more itchy bites around my ankles, legs and stomach. The first morning I woke up, I was not sure what type of bug had bitten me, but as the bites increased, and because the window was locked in the hotel room, I soon realised I was being, literally, eaten alive by bed bugs! It made for a very anxious, irritating and deeply unplesant stay and I hardly slept throughout the 3 nights, and when I did, I was bitten all over my lower-half. On the day i got back home, I complained to Premier Inn using their online Feedback and Complaints form and after 3 weeks their response was: ' 'Following your stay and notifying us about this instance, we took the room and rooms aside out of service and requested an external third party company to thoroughly investigate the room and surrounding rooms, due to the nature of bed bugs. They have published there findings to us and they have confirmed no trace or evidence was found to confirm bed bugs being present in the room or rooms next door. With this in mind as the room has been confirmed to be clear, we would be unable to provide a refund for your stay, though we do apologise again for the disappointment experienced on this occasion.' So their response to my evidence, including photos of my bitten and blistered skin, which I could not help but itch all day and night; the fact the window could not be opened and I woke up every morning with more and more bites, is the above. I'll leave you to make up your mind if Premier Inn's 'Good Night Guarantee' is meaningless or not, considering what I went through and the response I received with no refund.
