The hotel itself is very nice and well located close to the sea and a narrow beach. It also provides easy access to the old town and we were able to park our car without any problems although it did get completely full later in the day. We stayed in a suite which was very roomy and comfortable although the furniture seems like it’s getting towards the time when it will need renewal. The reception staff were helpful and welcoming. The thing that partly spoilt our stay at the hotel was the service at breakfast. Either the hotel is understaffed or the staff that were on duty weren’t too keen on providing the sort of service this price of hotel demands (we paid £472 for 2 nights). To provide examples, there was no set up of the tables on the terrace, we were expected to take our own cutlery, glasses, napkins etc on to the terrace, which btw was the place almost all the guests chose to take breakfast, as it’s a very nice location. Also trying to get the staff to either clean a table or provide coffee or tea was a hit and miss affair. The breakfast is served buffet style with a chef making omelettes etc. Unfortunately the chef also seemed to be responsible for restocking the buffet which she seemed to be doing on day 2 of our stay (on day 1 she made me a decent omelette) so after hanging around for 5 minutes whilst she was in the kitchen I gave up. My wife brought the poor service up with the manager who basically said it was self service, but who knew this included setting your own table? At the same time the staff were also serving guests from outside the hotel with drinks and this appeared to occupy their time much more than serving those of us staying at the hotel. Overall this could have been a really nice stay but was spoiled by this one aspect.
