パラドール デ カラオーラ(Parador de Calahorra)

It is just a short distance and easy to reach from the AP68 motorway. The rooms are clean and comfortable and, since the recent refurbishment, the beds are much softer and more comfortable, which is a big improvement on the hard beds usually found in Paradores. The staff are friendly and efficient and the food is very good.

Having visited many Paradores over the last few years, this one was new to us. It didn’t disappoint! We always stay in one on our Spain visits where possible and are disappointed if one is not on our route.

This is a lovely building in a great location in Calahorra. The receptionists were friendly and helpful. We were able to park our car securely. The rooms was clean and comfortable and breakfast is excellent.

A traditional hotel, perhaps I should say a traditional Parador, with everything that one associates with these: lots of olde worlde touches in the public areas, and lots of very dark wood in the bedroom. Yet this wasn’t an historic Parador, in a castle or convent from the 16th century, being barely 100 years old. Or should I say the rooms, plural? We had what was really a suite, with a bedroom well furnished with an interesting ornately carved headboard (but not a king-sized bed, to our surprise), opening out on to a large sitting room, again well furnished. There were so many chairs and sofas that we could seat 8 people in cushioned armchair or sofa comfort, 9 if one sat on the hard chair by the desk. 😊 The bathroom was large and well equipped with good towels. The bar cum cafeteria was very pleasant, as was the dining room, which served standard solid Parador food.

Good location easy to find. Lovely room although floor above very noisy, who ever was up above us were walking around from 6am ubtil 7 30!!! Breakfast was fine BUT we asked for an omelette when we realised we could order hot food( the waitress didn't mention this)we waited over 20minutes, had to ask again, it still didn't arrive. So we felt after nearly 30 minutes waiting for 2 omelette we decided to leave. Wouldn't stay again.

The feature of this Parador for us was the Junior Suite, which was effectively 2 double rooms joined together - one as a lounge and one with a four-poster bed. But when we booked, the cost was not much more than a standard room, so it was excellent value for money. The service was good, but not as good as in other Paradors - staff seemed unsure on the drinks we wanted, and we felt a bit rushed in the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. The food was very good for both.

This is a modern hotel on the edge of Calahorra offering comfortable rooms and a very good restaurant. There is a small garden and on site parking. It is a 10 minute walk from the centre of town, but convenient as a stop on the road if you are driving through La Rioja.

Hotel is well placed for the bars and restaurants on the ramble Spacious room very quiet. Traditional dark wood furnishings. Huge bed. Unfortunately I noticed a slight smell of drains which increased in the dining room.Free outdoor parking on site. Sadly not a lot to do in Calahorra, we were using it as a break in a long journey.

Very easy to find Parador. Very good parking and excellent Reception. As others have said, fairly modern. At the end of a Boulevard which had a nice atmosphere. I'm an Amigos and it worked fine for me. I would recommend.
