ハンティングトン ステイブルズ リトリート アコモデーション(Huntington Stables Retreat)

A really nice retreat in the Cambridge countryside, our second visit, and base for a tandem bike day trip to Lake Karapiro. We stayed at “the stall” which is a really reasonably priced self contained b & b room with access to the large pool, spa and sauna which we had for ourselves. The room has a kitchenette, private outside dining area, classic CDs, paperbacks to swap, and a super comfortable bed. Our host Robyn supplied the toast and preserves each morning and was super helpful. I almost don’t want to let anyone into the secret of this great find!

This was the 6th time we have stayed at Robyn’s beautiful retreat, and we couldn’t recommend it more highly. It is absolutely spotless, comfortable, and quiet. Everything you could possibly need has been thought of from a hot water bottle to make up remover pads… We always stop on route to further away, or just for a couple of nights to visit friends. Cambridge is less than 5 minutes drive away, or an easy cycle. The spa pool is lovely, as is the pool. A continental breakfast is provided, plus fresh fruit, treats in the fridge and homemade cake. We’ll be back!

Such a beautiful and peaceful place to stay. The hosts are warm and inviting. We loved playing pétanque in the garden area. Spa and sauna facilities as well as the room were all clean and tidy. The Loft was more than satisfactory for our weekend away. Highly recommend

This is the second time we have stayed at Huntington Stables Retreat. It has always been a touch of luxury for us from the beautiful decor, bed linen & toiletries to the wholesome continental breakfasts with home-made produce and fresh fruit. Robyn goes the extra mile with her attention to detail and her concern for visitor's needs. We also appreciate the concern for the environment and efforts to conserve water, recycle etc. The setting on the outskirts of town is tranquil and has beautiful views of the surrounding country side. A real gem!

Stayed in The Loft. Small but very cosy and comfy. Everything there plus more than you would expect from a B&B. Great country views and very quite. Close to everything and very friendly accommodating hosts. Would stay there again. Graeme and Elizabeth

It feels like luxury to have a break away at Huntington Stables, even when it is a work trip. It is my home-away-from-home when I stay in Cambridge. This time I stayed in The Loft which has a lovely view over the countryside. The bed was comfortable and every that I needed was at my fingertips. It is so close to town, only 5 -10 minutes away but it feels so peaceful and secluded. Robyn is always so welcoming.

Absolutely beautiful places to stay, we were in The Loft which was gorgeously set out, we had plenty of provisions for breakfast and bathing. The view was to die for and Robyn was so welcoming and friendly. We loved every minute and our only regret was leaving!

We loved our stay at Huntington Stables. Robyn and Andy are friendly and helpful, phoning to book our activities and assist with disability accessibility. The view from The Loft is stunning across the valley. The space is clean and neat. Plenty of available electric plugs and a lovely bath. Unexpected delight of a bird sanctuary on site.

Searching on the web for accommodation in the Hamilton area we came across the Huntington Stables Retreat in Cambridge and booked ourselves in. And what a pleasant stay it was. No; that doesn’t do it justice. It was an awesome stay. Robyn welcomed us in person on arrival and brought us to our accommodation, a well-appointed unit with all required comforts and fully-equipped kitchen. Strikingly designed crockery is a feature. The stock of breakfast provisions (and very generous they were, too) was pointed out, as were the compost and recyclable bins (Robyn and Andy are clearly conscientious in this regard). A shelf of books was there with an exchange option; a TV and a sound system were tucked away in cupboards. The requested roll-away bed had been set up (there were three of us in our party); towels and wraparounds were available for those using the pool, spa or sauna – amenities much valued after a tiring day. From the deck, views of gentle open countryside are there to enjoy; the surrounding gardens and their myriad nooks and corners make for interesting places to sit and take time out – and take in the presence of abundant bird life that makes the Retreat their home. And for those interested in wildlife, ask Robyn to show you the aviary, housing a variety of birds, some rescued and awaiting a new home. I would highly recommend the Huntington Stables Retreat as a place to stay. We have delightful memories of our weekend there. John Hunt
