ワイオラウ ホームステッド(Waiorau Homestead)

Stayed here for one night during our travels on the south island. Wish it would have been a longer stay. The hosts were amazing and took care of all our needs. Other guests were interesting and enjoyed conversations. Would definitely recommend the stay in a nice quiet setting. Even the resident cat was friendly.

Although the homestead is a bit remote it is worth staying here for the tranquility and beautiful views The host goes the extra mile to ensure you stay is comfortable and pleasant There are so many little extras here that makes it just that Great room and comfortable bed Perfect breakfast and a terrace to relax on in the evenings Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again, should we travel this way again

The property is beautiful, and the home is well appointed. The host is a chef, and breakfast was extensive. Our bathroom, although across the hall, was private, spacious, stocked with plenty of towels, and included both a large shower plus a Jacuzzi bathtub. Additionally, outside was a hot tub for the guests to use, and in the appropriate weather, the pool would be available. The proprietor thought of so many details to make stay more comfortable such as water and chocolate in our rooms, and in the common area coffee and tea and cookies available 24/7 in addition to a nice bottle of red wine for the guests to partake. It was by far the nicest place we stayed touring the South Island of New Zealand and the nicest bed and breakfast I have been in any of my travels.

My wife and I and another couple spent three weeks on the South Island and spent three nights here - we loved it! It is located south of Wanaka with beautiful views of the Cardrona valley. One day we hiked on the Meg Hut Pack Track which provided beautiful views of the valley and surrounding hills. We ventured into Wanaka one day and took a guided boat trip to Ruby Island. One evening we had dinner at the local Cardrona Restaurant. Ann and Blythe are great hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed a meal prepared by Blythe - it set the standard for all meals on our trip. We also enjoyed our chats with them about New Zealand and current events. We highly recommend Waiorau Homestead and hope to return some day.

The most gorgeous, relaxing stay was had at this property. The hosts, Anne and Blyth, could not be more accommodating. Breakfast was excellent and I highly recommend having dinner here - one of the best meals we had in Wanaka and Queenstown (thank you Blyth!). The homestead is tastefully decorated and kept impeccably clean. It feels like you're staying in your own house in the middle of wine country with a bit of snowboarding thrown in for good measure. I'm a travel agent and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this property to clients. It would be perfect to book the whole house for a group of friends or large family. Excellent value for money and conveniently located at the base of Cardrona. Thank you Ann and Blyth.

We had the most wonderful stay here and really couldn’t recommend it enough! Absolutely wonderful, welcoming hosts, a 10/10 breakfast and a lovely hot tub all to ourselves. One of the best stays we’ve had in NZ!!

We loved our stay here. The homestead is so comfortable and Ann and Blyth both so welcoming and such thoughtful hosts. We loved the warm fire and a cold glass of wine when we arrived. The room was lovely, the bathroom beautiful and the views just heavenly. We loved our walk down the track to the Cardrona Pub for dinner (delicious). The gardens are so pretty, even on a frosty morning. This place is just as the reviewers have described. We look forward to coming back one day.
