We stayed at this Ibis Styles recently and here is a summary of various aspects from our experience: Prior to our stay = the hotel emailed travel passes the day before, which gave us free travel on all public transport in Geneva. It seems a lot of hotels there provide this. It was very useful, convenient, included our travel from the airport to the hotel, and saved us some money during our trip. Check-in = friendly welcome from staff, they spoke fluent English and French, we were able to check in early (however being charged 30 CHF to do this was expensive). Positives of the room = spacious & clean, modern, nice window seat, bed was comfortable, free WiFi included was efficient, good housekeeping services, we slept well and weren’t disturbed by noises so that suggests the soundproofing was good quality. Negatives of the room = the air conditioning didn’t work well or cool the room. Spoke to reception about the issue and they explained the rooms don’t have proper air conditioning because of the way they were made (on Ibis website the rooms are listed as having air conditioning, so I find this description misleading). The staff were apologetic, helpful and were able to provide a fan, which was definitely needed throughout our stay due to the hot weather! Without a fan, the temperature in the room would not have been bearable in summer as the thermostats can only be turned down by a limited number of degrees and the temperature of ours would not go below 23 degrees during our stay. We noticed that other guests had also been provided with fans by the hotel. I was disappointed that there was no mini fridge in the room - this is something which I would have expected in an Ibis Styles room due to the upgraded facilities/increased prices. Despite the room being large, there was a lack of storage space/hanging space for clothes and not enough hangers. Only one spare pillow provided when the room was booked for two guests. We were provided with one complimentary bottle of water in the room when we checked in - again, not sure why they didn’t provide two bottles, to make it one per guest. This was not replenished during our stay. Miscellaneous request = at the time of booking, we added a note to explain it would be our wedding anniversary during our stay and asked if the hotel could do anything simple to make this occasion even more special. We had no response. When we contacted them a few days before, enquiring about the travel passes we had read about online, we also asked again if the hotel could do anything for our anniversary - we would have only been expecting a small gesture such as folding the towels into nice shapes or putting a chocolate on the pillow for example. We weren’t expecting anything for free and would have paid in order for something special to be done. However the subject was ignored by the hotel for a second time and nothing was done in the room for our anniversary. If this is something which the hotel can’t accommodate, we would
