New modern rustic cabin that backs up to Grayson Highlands State Park. Be prepared for stargazing and cool refreshing nights. Minutes from Grayson Highlands State Park and the Creeper Trail. All the modern conveniences in a rural setting.The cabin is a traditional full dovetail Appalachian cabin constructed of white pine. The cabin is around 600 ft.² with a full bathroom, full kitchen/dining area, loft bedroom area. The structure has a covered vaulted front porch and rear porch. There are many amenities to make the guest feel more at home Including towels, linens for the beds, soap/shampoo, cooking utensils, pots/pans and anything else you would need for cooking a good meal. We have a Weber kettle grill on the back porch for grilling out as well. In addition, we provide complementary coffee and a bundle of firewood for the outdoor pit.The cabin is located in a beautiful spot at approximately 4000 feet elevation. Due to the elevation, temperatures are typically much cooler than the surrounding areas. It is recommended to bring a jacket even in the warmer months. Due to the close proximity to Grayson Highlands State Park, you may occasionally see a wild pony wondering to the property. There’s bountiful wildlife around the property including deer, turkey, many bird species and the occasional bear.The road to the cabin is a state maintained gravel road. Although a 2wd car/truck will work fine, we recommend a 4wd if possible due to the steep nature of the road.
