ターミナル ネージュ レフュージ ドゥ モンタンヴェール(Refuge du Montenvers)

This is so worth a visit, staff are super, friendly and welcoming. Rooms spotless, beds comfy and when the last train leaves you have the mer de glace all to yourselves. Food very good and dogs are made very welcome. So pleased we stayed, it was a great experience ! So full of history.

Just returned from our second stay at the refuge. Staff are amazing . Especially the girl who was on duty the day/night we were there. Room was lovely and cosy. Best view from the bathroom Ive ever seen. I left my e book there and they contacted me to tell me they would send it back to me. That was nice of them. The food was good. Breakfast consisted of cereals, breads, pastries, conserves, youghurt. So plenty to choose from. We were hoping to do snowshoeing there but unfortunatelt the glacier museum was unable to supply snowshoes on the day we were there. There are 2 snowshoe walks clearly marked green for easy and red for hard. We saw a Chamois walking outside in early morning. I have never seen one of them before. Go to the little chapel and watch a very interesting video of how the refuge started.

GROSSE DECEPTION : Refuge de Montenvers que nous fréquentons depuis plusieurs années au moins 3 jours/2 nuits pour bien vivre ces moments car nous y étions bien : Site magnifique, prestations confortables et soignées, Suite/baignoire très agréable, salon et cheminée reposants, personnel attentionné & professionnel MAIS... MAIS... MAIS pour la réservation du 28 au 30 Janvier 2024 effectuée en 2023 pour un anniversaire: ANNULATION VERBALE PURE ET SIMPLE de la Suite du 29/01/24 ! (RIEN D'ECRIT uniquement verbal 😒!!! ) quelques heures seulement avant notre arrivée SANS AUCUN DEDOMMAGEMENT en 1ère intention ! Puis échange téléphonique courtois avec Aurélien directeur du refuge de Montenvers pour établir un accord de dédommagement qui convenait aux 2 parties. C'était acté. Nous lui faisions confiance. Le lendemain matin, Aurélien a modifié unilatéralement à la baisse l'accord de dédommagement pris ensemble la veille. Il n'a pas tenu ses engagements! Ensuite à plusieurs reprises par ses mails particulièrement violents , avec errance dialectique et dysorthographie, il s'est montré insultant, agressif, par écrit, ne respectant pas sa propre parole et notre accord .Nous n'avons donc pas séjourné en 2024. DECEPTION de son comportement. Aurélien va répondre à notre commentaire, se défendre avec son agressivité et ses errances, évoquant "nos menaces et notre chantage" (DIXIT Aurélien lors de nos demandes de dédommagement) Je répète : CE GARCON N'A PAS DE PAROLE. Finalement nous n'avons obtenu qu'un dédommagement des 2 billets de train à crémaillère + 137€. Nous avions un contrat depuis décembre 2023 (6 semaines auparavant) dès notre réservation, nous sommes donc parfaitement en droit d'exposer publiquement notre déception pour cet établissement puisque notre contractualisation n'a pas été respectée QUELQUES HEURES avant notre arrivée ! Notre commentaire est un avertissement pour prévenir les futurs clients potentiels. Si vous avez l'occasion d'y aller , attendez-vous aussi à ce type de situation sans scrupule pour PRIVATISATION du refuge ! Il paraît que c'est un doublon informatique??? Il n'en demeure pas moins que c'est inacceptable!!! We stayed at the hotel for one night on the breakfast evening meal and train package. The scenery and location is fantastic as is the charming train journey up the mountain. The evening meal and breakfast is good. This place can better cater for large groups and has family rooms more suited to these groups than individuals and couples. The groups tend to dominate. The rate is pricy for a couple.

It was amazing. The staff was available, approachable, understanding of different needs and the dorm was perfect. We were a group of 48 friends and everything was easy to organize. All the rooms had incredible views on the Mer de Glace and the mountains.

We had lunch on the terrace and didn’t have a very good experience. The service was terrible, several people at tables around us either got up and left or complained: waiters left us waiting for ages, drinks were ordered several times but never came, the food was okay but not worth the wait or the poor service. Not only this, but some of the staff were visibly frustrated at what I assume was a staff shortage and were rude. Won’t be going back there again!

A historical hotel with excellent food. Love the hotel dogs( love to play stick) and the feline friend in the dinning area. The view from the room are wow. Would i be back? Yes.

Our stay at Montenvers was great. The hotel appearred lovingly restored to it's original glory. It was a realitively easy and comfortable way to immerse in some of the most beautiful mtns in the world. The food was very good. The views from our room of the glacier and mtns were fantastic.

Fabulous place to stay and/or for a meal!!! Lovely helpful and understanding staff who make a visit even more memorable. The views are superb. The train trip in the winter a must but a wonderful hike up in the summer is not to be missed either. Look forward to returning again very soon!
