Lovely hotel in the city center. We weren't expecting much as the price is low compared to other hotel in chamonix, but everything was perfect. The room is clean and confortable, with balcony and view on the mountain, we had free access to sauna. Thanks to the location and the free parking, you Can just leave your car and use mecanic devices and bus. We would like to thank all the staff who were adorable and helpfull. Be sure we'll either come back or advise someone to go in that hotel.
Absolutely fantastic. Wasn’t expecting so much from what was classed as a 3-star hotel. I’ve stayed in 5-star hotels that weren’t as good as this one. Staff were always super friendly and very helpful. Even gave advice on ski resorts. Food wonderful also. Location brilliant. Super clean. Very comfortable. I actually don’t think I’ve stayed at a hotel were I can honestly say everything was perfect… EVER! Truely a brilliant hotel. Highly highly recommended. Will definitely be back.
We chose to stay here due to its location to the Chamonix town centre. After a long drive from Avignon, we arrived late afternoon. Unfortunately all hotel parking was full, however a public car park was a short 2-3 minute walk away & reasonably priced for 24 hour parking. Check in was quick and easy, hotel staff were very friendly. We had a room on the top floor (8th access via stairs from the 7th floor) with an amazing view of the mountains. Our room had everything we needed for the three nights we stayed. The daily breakfast was delicious. The staff were very accommodating if we needed anything. Location is key in an area like this and it couldn’t have been better. Easy 2 minute walk into the centre of town. We didn’t ski while we were here, but did do some amazing hikes in the area. The day after one hike we booked in for an hour massage and used the spa/sauna facilities. The massage was very relaxing and again the staff were great. Unfortunately Chamonix was experiencing unusually high winds during our stay and all major tourist attractions were closed. The tourism office was a great help giving ideas on what else to do, seeing everything was closed. This was unfortunate, but the area is so beautiful. We will definitely be back.
ゲゲストThis is a small boutique hotel that offers spectacular views of the alps. The service is impeccable. Many thanks to the whole staff for their many kindnesses. Marieke the concierge is the best: no request goes unanswered. The balcony rooms offer unparalleled views of the Alps and are quite spacious.. The bar staff are great. Many thanks Rasheen for your excellent and genial service. BUT: There is a road just behind the hotel with very busy traffic. We live in a city but we still found it disturbing. You must leave the balcony doors open in the summer; otherwise, you'd be sweltering, and you will hear traffic all night. On our last night, a Saturday, a dozen or so young people sat on a wall between the hotel and street drinking and carousing until 3am. Barking dogs. We hardly slept the whole time we were there. The worst is that the place is overrun with babies and children under 5. This is a small 5 star boutique hotel . it should be billed as a family venue. We tried to spend time in the lovely garden area, the only public space in the summer, and were constantly beset by crying babies and children running around. If you are looking for a relaxing venue in nature, this, alas, is not it. Breakfast offers no table service and the buffet is often quite crowded and out of things. The food is subpar. Any decent 5 star hotel has a good club sandwich but not this one. The croque monsieur was meh.The terrine barely edible: a freezing cold mass of fat. Ugh. Poor wine menu. It could be a great place, and was when we were there 15 years ago, but now, not. If you have babies and small children, you'll be welcome.
ゲゲストI booked this charming chalet boutique hotel through my bank as they have a cashback offer on hotel stays and this was one of the hotels in Chamonix that had availability, was open during summer and had parking onsite. We went their with my friends last August to escape the provençal heat and we booked a Family room. Normally the family room is for 2 adults and 2 kids so we called them up to confirm if it is ok to room 4 adults. We had to call twice as they had customers checking out but the lady who assisted us was very nice and helpful and told us that it was not a problem. I am not sure if this is just because it was summer and normally a low season for them or if this is their actually policy, so double check first with them. As indicated on the other tripadvisor reviews, this hotel is located beside the greens of the Chamonix golf club and is on the outskirts of Chamonix so you would either need a car or take public transport. This was not an issue for us as we came with our car and we preferred not to be right in the center where parking could be expensive and difficult. Upon arriving, the public parking outside the hotel was full so we asked the receptionnist to give us access to their private paid parking. Good thing that there were still some spots left as it was not a huge parking and could probably just fit less than 10 cars so I suggest that you try to book it in advance before your stay, especially if you are going there during the peak season. The lobby and reception area had a warm ambiance and exuded a homey charm. The receptionnist was very friendly and patient, very helpful and had a smile on her face. She handed our keys eventhough we arrived a little early and told us about the spa and gave us information on how to get to the center by public transport which we really appreciated. The family room was located on the ground level and was spacious enough for a short stay. It was clean, functional, well maintained eventhough you can smell a bit of humidity in the air and had a spacious balcony overlooking the golf course. The room also had a spectacular view of Month Blanc. Unfortunately, the room had no airconditioning, but since we are near the mont blanc, it wasn't that warm especially if you opened the windows. Also, since the hotel is not near the center, it was peaceful and there was not much noise when you do open the windows. The room had all the amenities of a 3 star property and the beds and pillows were ok and were comfortable enough for a short stay. After leaving our luggages, we went out to go to the center of chamonix to catch the Montenvers train which led to the Mer de glace, the longest and largest valley glacier in France. We decided to leave the car and took a bus instead as the bus stop was around 5-8 minutes walk away from the hotel. Since we got back to the hotel late, unfortunately we were not able to enjoy the jacuzzi as it was already closed after dinner so we just went straight to our rooms and slep
We booked hotel Gourmets for a family ski trip. Reviews and photos where good. Unfortunately what we experienced was different. The rooms where very small and the bathrooms even smaller. We stayed in room 205 and the bathroom was uncomfortably small. While we where there, there was a really bad smell in the room, which we reported. It never got sorted during our stay. It was blamed on a heating fuel leak. A member of our party was also gluten free. We had asked prior to arriving if the breakfast would have GF options. We where assures there would be. On arriving we where met with blank faces and told they weren’t available in local supermarkets, which we found incorrect when we bought our own. Finally you have to pay extra for the sauna and steam room when you get there. Which wasn’t clear when we booked. We wouldn’t recommend or return to this hotel.
FIRST OF ALL THE LOCATION WAS EXCELLENT. ABOUT 1 MINUTE WALKING FROM CITY CENTER ALL STAFF WERE EXTREMELY POLITE AND ANY QUESTIONS WE HAD THEY WERE WILING TO HELP US. ROOM NUMBER 20 THAT THEY GAVE US WAS SO COSY, BIG AND COMFORTABLE. HAD AN AMAZING MOUNTAIN VIEW! HAVE A BIG JACUZZI AND A SAUNA! CLEAN HOTEL! THE ONLY THING I DIDN'T LIKE WAS THE FACT THAT FOR 7 DAYS OF OUR STAY BREAKFAST WAS THE SAME EVERY SINGLE DAY BUT RATHER THAN THAT EVERYTHING WAS EXCELLENT! ALSO FIRE PLACE WAS FAKE WHICH IN REALITY THEY HAVE A FIRE PLACE BUT THEY INSTALLED A FAKE ON TOP OF IT! 😉
Nice hotel with good service. Super central. We came to escape the heat wave with family, but with no air conditioning, it was still pretty warm… I booked on the telephone (in French) and reserved for adults and children, specifically because the hotel has a pool. I asked about the pool and Spa hours too. WARNING: they did NOT tell me on the phone that children are not allowed in the pool and spa - (only 1030-1230) - but since checkout is at 11, that means basically not at all if you only stay one night. I understand the rules, and the reason why they don’t want a noisy spa, but they should have made this VERY clear up front. So recommend this hotel for adults only. Families with children should stay somewhere else.
