Not quite what I was expecting I took 2 couples of my American clients for a 3 night stay at the Auberge.I wanted to treat them to an exceptional experience. I was expecting more from a Relais et Chateau property - this is why I chose the Auberge in the first place. Do not get me wrong there are a lot of good things , the location was absolutely perfect , the room was beautiful and the bed incredible. The inside of the hotel is very warm and elegant , the cleanliness is top notch and the staff is extremely professional and friendly for the most part. Christian , the manager of the Jardin d'hiver is a consummate professional who works very hard to offer the very best customer service. Definitely a very valuable and essential asset to Auberge du Jeu de Paume! Now for the not so positive - it was very obvious that the hotel caters to corporate groups which I understand perfectly well. However you need to be careful that these groups do not impede the quality of stay of the independent clients. The first night we went to the bar to relax and have drinks after a long day - there was a group of business people so loud and obnoxious that I had to get up and ask politely if they could refrain to scream and laugh so hard - unsuccessful! The poor waiter was so stressed and at times frustrated that his service was not to the level of a Relais and Chateau standards. It took a long time to get our drinks - I had to get up a few times to ask for anther round. The entire time it was so loud that we could not hear each other! The next night I thought we would have better luck - the same experience repeated itself. This is when I shared with Christian how unhappy I was - 2 nights in a row is a little much - this is why we decided to go out to get our drinks the last night! I do not think it is unreasonable to expect a tranquil a**osphere ( at least be able to talk to each other ) in the bar of a 5 Star hotel! Also the second morning of our stay I had to wait for breakfast because it was full due to a large group - the staff tried to accommodate me by setting my clients and I in the bar area but it is not comfortable for breakfast! Anyway I do understand that a hotel relies on corporations for business however you should have a special room/area to accommodate large groups and somebody should be policing the behavior of some of these people when they are in public areas. Satisfying large corporate groups and independent clients are 2 different missions there is no reason you can not do both both within the same property and satisfy everybody. 2 more things I need to mention: My wife was really unhappy with her facial - she is a very experienced spa goer and the service she received was poor. The lady did not spend enough time working on her face and left her alone for a big portion of the facial. My wife own words " this was not worth the money " One last thing, I was expecting to receive a survey from your hotel so I could share my experience - it surprised me
