マノワール ドゥ ポンセ(Manoir de Ponsay)

Gorgeous old manor house, very sympathetically decorated with a huge amount of character and charm. Beautifully set in acres of rolling countryside. Our room was huge and each one is uniquely and beautifully decorated. It was very comfortable and clean, with a huge modern bathroom. Breakfast was a veritable feast of cakes, breads, croissants, fruits and cereals etc. Our hosts, Laurent and his wife, could not have been more helpful and welcoming. Excellent value for money!

We stayed here last month as a stopover for a couple of nights while heading down to Ile de Ré, and it turned out to be just as fantastic an experience as our main destination was. It is a stunning building, completely unspoilt, and exactly as you would hope an old chateau to be if you have never actually stayed in one before. It doesn’t disappoint - opulent and very grand, with immaculate rooms and spotless bathrooms. We stayed in the tower which we loved, the novelty factor alone of sleeping in an old tower with a perfect view of the surrounding countryside was amazing. Laurent and his wife offered us such a warm welcome and immediately made us feel right at home. Breakfast is a must and an experience in itself, with everybody eating and chatting around a huge table in one of the grandest rooms I’ve ever sat in. In short, an unforgettable experience that I would recommend to anyone. If you’re looking for an unspoiled little piece of France, I would have thought it’s pretty much unbeatable. And Laurent - the number plate has pride of place in my garage!

The most stunning property. Very friendly hosts who couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was delicious, recommendations for the evening meal were spot on. The rooms were comfortable and clean with beautiful period features.

Absolutely fabulous, we stay in France 2-3 times a year and the hospitality this family offer is unbeatable. The location is quite rural but very beautiful. The chateau’s owners are 12th generation and cannot do enough to help you. Breakfast is very good and the rooms are spacious and very clean. If you are looking for authentic French hospitality, a property full of character and the worlds friendliest Labrador you will be very happy with this property.

My family and I stayed last week as the proximity to Puy du Foy is very close. The Manoir and the history is superb and you feel fortunate to stay in such a building. The couple that run Manoir are extremely welcoming and make time for all their guests.They arranged a last minute dinner for us with no problems. Our children played in the grounds and Paddy the dog was very gentle with my daughters. I am already discussing a potential Christmas visit with the family. All of this and the rates are very economical!

Magnifique séjour dans ce manoir de charme en compagnie d'amis en visite au Puy du Fou pour 5 nuitées Les chambres sont spacieuses , décorées avec gout et meublées avec de jolis meubles anciens de famille. La salle à manger est toujours dans l'esprit du XVIII ème Un billard est à disposition dans un salon privé Les Hôtes passionnés par leur terroir et l'histoire vendéenne , sont aux petits soins et se coupent en quattre pour vous satisfaire . Accueil chaleureux. Les hôtes sont gracieux et chaleureux, le cadre sympathique Literie confortable et vue de la chambre sur un beau paysage. Environnements intérieur très propre et bien entretenu. Petit déjeuner copieux dans le salon

A peine arrivé le Manoir en impose. La propriété est magnifique 🤩 Les hôtes sont tout simplement adorables et très prévenants!! Le petit déjeuner est exceptionnel. Chambre superbe, literie excellente,salle de bains très moderne… En un mot un superbe moment passé ☀️🤩
