The best things about the Hampton Inn were the location and the hotel employees. The hotel is 15 minutes to half an hour walk from Charleston’s major attractions, including shopping, and twenty minutes from the airport. Charleston is made for walking. It is compact, clean and safe, so we walked everywhere. The attitude of the front desk employees epitomized southern hospitality. The hotel offers free breakfast which is basic, but satisfying. Room cleaning is offered upon request. twenty minutes from the airport.

Older hotel in a GREAT LOCATION. Service was great, but the HVAC system is terrible. Our room was 70° when we walked in. We turned it down to 68° before bed, only to notice that the thermostat was actually set at 89°. We did set it to 68°, but when we woke up in the morning, the temperature had dropped to 62°. The front desk sent maintenance to take a look at it while we were out for the day. We asked to have it set at 68°. When we returned that evening, it was set at 72°, but it was 77° in our room. Maintenance was sent back up to take a look. He made some adjustments, but it was still having issues. We asked to switch rooms, which we did, but we had the same issue. Finally got the temperature to stay around 68° by setting the thermostat to 78°. We also had the fan set to go on and off automatically, but it ran the entire time, which made it feel even colder than what the thermostat said. I also noticed others complaining of the HVAC issues. It may work better when just using the A/C, but it was frustrating trying to get some heat on some cold days in Charleston.

The parking lot does not belongs to the property so you have to pay for it daily. Also pet charge is also 75 dollars daily with a max of 250. Otherwise the hotel is nice well care and clean.

My room smelled musty and the air conditioner did not work. We set it to 65 and it remained at 78 degrees all weekend. I called the front desk multiple times to send someone to fix it and no one ever came. The pillows were very uncomfortable. Our bed was extremely squeaky and in bad condition. Seemed very old and run down.

I have stayed at this hotel several times. I like it. It is convenient to places I want to go and it a good bargain. It is showing some age and could use some updating but I don’t care.

Everything was as advertised. Staff was extremely helpful and courteous. I’m not for pet friendly, but the room didn’t smell of pets. It would be nice if you had rooms that were not pet friendly. Will put you at the top of my list on my next trip.

Wonderful location--across the street from Charleston Visitor Center and free shuttle bus stops to all locations of interest to tourists. Walking distance to historic area sites.

The hotel was very convenient to feed transportation, shopping and dining. However, they need to recaulk the bathrooms. The mildewed caulk around the tub was gross. The homeless people asking for money every time we ventured out of the hotel was off putting.
