オテル イマゴ(Hotel Imago)

We booked this hotel as an overnight stay while travelling further south and it was a great choice. Hotel Imago has a charming new owner who is very keen to carry on the great reputation of this hotel. The position of the hotel is wonderful with great views of surrounding countryside. Our room was on the ground floor with a small and quite private terrace. The room itself was compact but not tiny. Comfortable bed and great shower. The weather was glorious we were able to dine on the terrace and the 3 course menu had a good choice and was delicious. All in all a great stopover.

Ourselves and 7 other couples stayed at the hotel for a week. Despite only owning the hotel for a short while, Stephan, our host, was very welcoming and professional. The rooms were spacious and very clean with very comfortable beds. We were very grateful for the air conditioning as the temperature soared to 30 degrees. The balconies from all the rooms have fabulous views across the valley towards Chinon. The on site restaurant serves typical French cuisine of a high standard, the breakfast is continental freshly baked on the premises. We stayed as a Lotus car club, so safe parking is very important to us which the hotel provided. We can't praise hotel Imago enough and is a perfect hotel for any car club visiting the Loire region. We will return.

Great hotel and host. Comfortable room with maisonette space for the kids. Beautifull view from the terrace and balcony. Menu basic but good. Only recommendation is a better kids menu. Would definitely recommend

An interesting approach to the hotel that raised expectations. We enjoyed our stay immensely. The views from both the room and the dining terrace were lovely. Dinner was delicious and breakfast was well stocked. Recommended.

A great place to stopover on the way back or to the south of France. The town of Chinon is 5 mins away and worth exploring. Host was excellent and very helpful. We got a vegetarian meal ( feel the menu should have this) which was put together for us and was excellent. Lovely room with a pleasant view. Only negative point was a school group who were above us were quite noisy but still got a good nights sleep.

Amazing staff. Gentleman who runs the property is amazing! Great food. Quiet and comfy bed. Only issue was very on and off WiFi.

Near Chinon, but out of town and out of congestion. Very friendly owner, good - not great - food, but priced accordingly. Rooms fine, but ground floor rooms are handicap-accessible. We were visiting Abbey Fontevrault, so this worked very well.

A 2 week stay to explore the Loire Valley Well maintained hotel, extremely friendly and helpful staff, owner is a natural hotelier and a consummate professional, we were made very welcome throughout. Covid regs applied but the staff were always masked and very prompt to ‘spray and wipe’. A quiet easy to find location, calm surroundings, on the side of a hill with amazing views over the valley. Only a short drive into Chinon and easy access to non motorway routes allowing pleasant drives up and down the valley Parking was free, we parked with a level walk to our room which was a ground floor room with small terrace and great view over the valley. It was clean, well serviced and had all we needed including a large comfortable bed, a good size well equipped bathroom, efficient AC, good WiFi and TV with the BBC news channel Breakfast was French buffet style with a good choice Dinner was served on the terrace with its view across the valley. Choice and quality of food was excellent. Very well presented and faultless service. I rotated through duck, veal and guinea fowl dishes whilst my wife tended more towards the fish dishes. The desserts were a particular treat although I opted for a simple cheese board on those nights when the main course was particularly filling! Good choice of wines When we return to this part of France we will definitely stay here and we can fully recommend this hotel whether you are staying to explore the Loire châteaux and museums or just passing through
