We stayed for two nights. The room disappointed us, considering what we paid. The bathroom ceiling has active water damage as well as evidence of previous damage that appeared to be plastered over and painted. The result is black mold and peeling/stained paint.
Pros:
- Location.
- Quiet, pedestrian-only area.
- Staff were mostly courteous and welcoming.
- Staff will arrange taxi services.
- Beverages and cookies available in room.
- Staff assisted with bringing a bag to lobby upon check-out.
- Curtains darkened the room well.
Neutral:
- A/C worked but was noisy, vents coated in dust.
- Oscillating fan also worked, was dusty.
- No washcloths (rags) in the bathroom, just towels.
- Toiletries smelled/felt cheap. Difficult to use without a loofah sponge or washcloth.
- No shelf in shower to place items or place to hang anything.
- Shower pressure was average and the temperature fluctuated.
- Front desk attendant was brusque when we arrived an hour early.
Cons:
- Bathroom water damage, as mentioned above. Insects tended to congregate near the active leak.
- Bathroom floor tiles move and are uneven/broken/cracked, some with sharp corners.
- Stains on towel.
- Carpet, curtains, paint, and other fixtures in need of overhaul. Most are tired, discolored, and worn.
- No offer to help carry bags up two flights of narrow, steep stairs upon check-in.
- Previous guest's hair in shower.
- Old windows don't seal. Outside odors and insects will enter.
- No fridge, no safe.
